It's called "Passing the Torch" - 765+346=1111.

Turns out what Okayu-san said is... well, "particularly" true. Because in the last December 28th, Columbia Japan released another SP album called "1111 - BRIGHTS & MAGICS"

If you don't know what Okayu-san wrote, here's the thread he posted on April 1st: http://forum.project-imas.com/index.php/topic,2270.0.html

I was too stupid to realized the pun hidden between the name of two agencies - 765 and 346, if you put these two together, 765+346, you'll get 1111...

1111 may not be an agency, but this rumor surely is true in a more or less abstract way.

And thus, we have this. Uzuki and Haruka, hooking their little finger.

out by OniZetto on Flickr

In the CD, there are talk sessions and songs like usual. This time, Haruka is singing "お願い!シンデレラ" and Uzuki sings "M@STERPIECE"

To me, it seems like a symbol that 765PRO Allstars is passing the torch to their juniors. Although the senior may not retire, but for now, they need to take a rest, and will leave the stage to the junior for a while.

"It's about Time to become Cinderella Girls!!"

That's right, Uzuki... it's time for you to shine, carrying your senior's best wishes with your own hope. You run toward the stage in your shiny glass shoes, though the one who found you may not be a prince, he will do his best to fulfill you and your fellow girls' dream, and the fans you'll gather will definitely give their best to support you.

As much as I don't want the original 765 girls to go away, I know it's bound to happen at some point. Not necessarily a bad thing, however. And as you say, it may not necessarily be their curtain call yet.
Not removing this sig until Kachou Fuugetsu becomes more than a 5-page side story.

If only their replacements were interesting... because i don't think the vast majority of the CG girls are, even those in the anime...

On one hand, those are a lot of characters with varying degrees of potential and charm, but on the other ...Yeah, I feel the same way. Even if a 10th of them had the same quality treatment, that just means the others are spread thin. Those first CG singles left a pretty poor taste in my mouth, but they've gotten better over time, so eh.

I'll feel sad when the era finally ends, but even The Beatles had to go their own ways, I guess.

I feel like they'll get rid of 765 when they stop printing money for Scamco... Which is never, I feel like.

As long as it's Uzuki and not...

From what I understand of the iDOLM@STER universe, it actually seems more probable that a Million Live character would be a torch carrier because they are more directly 765's juniors.
Based on the flow and direction of the CG anime, I would actually almost argue that given a fictional few years time, they would be equals to 765 based on the assumption due to bg art that 765 is already fairly established by now. Not to mention they don't even work for the same production company so it'd be strange.

I don't think it's our girls' time just yet, and I'm sure they'll make a more elegant transition than just this 'foreshadowing'.

No one will be able to replace Haruka, and I'm saying that with love for Uzuki, Mirai, and Ai. I love them all, but they're certainly not the same.

I was thinking about this when I saw the im@s movie.  From an anime-only standpoint, it really felt like that arena concert was to be the final curtain call for 765 pro(especially near the end of the song when they were all going hand in hand down that runway for the last time and turned to wave farewell at the audience(at us) before taking a final bow)except I thought they were going to pass on their legacy to ML...

ML makes more sense, honestly. ML has the girls interacting and actual updates about 765, but CG has been trying to move away from the original 13 for a really long time now.

I really hope it's ML if this happens at all. I like them better overall as a group. Also I just like CG being its own thing with references to the rest of the series.

I definitely agree on ML as well. CG's characters are OK, but they were just bland to me, especially the anime's characters. Although, I kept watching, so there must have been a reason why =P
I'll be sad the day 765 is gone, but so far, I can kind of see why they're doing this.

If there is a moment where the original 765 cast has to pass the torch (which I feel is gonna happen, just not any time soon), it has to be ML, as a lot of you are saying. Mainly because ML is directly linked to 765 and they do interact often, unlike CG which, while still iM@S, is considered its own thing entirely.

The thing is, I feel like now is NOT a good time at all because there's still people that either know nothing about or aren't accustomed to the new characters yet. Once that time comes and everyone is used to these new faces, then the switch will feel more natural and won't have as much backlash, which I feel that if done now the backlash would be massive.

I just don't want them to pull a Love Live! Sunshine!! where they bring in a group of complete unknowns with the implications of replacing the main cast. It'd be way too sudden.

To be fair, LL's plot lends itself well to constantly bringing in new characters because at some point they will have to graduate.

Cinderella Girls or Million Live, neither of them will be the same thing; but why'd I say that Cinderella Girls is more likely to take the torch? I have a reason, and it was formed under observation.

Mirai, Tsubasa and Shizuka, although they're 'titled' as the main trio, but they've never sing together since ML starts to release albums, there's no obvious connection between them. Haruka, Chihaya and Miki, on the other hand, although there's no exact unit designated in the game or in the anime, but at least they have sung songs together for many times, they also have strong connections to each others.

The main reason for me to believe that Cinderella is going to take the position, is the close friendship of the main trio like the original trio; they entered Mishiro Production at the same time, arranged into one unit (take note that 'New Generations' already exist in the game,) do lessons and stuff all together. While ML trio acts more scattered and not even forming a unit since their debut, the social chain in ML seems blurry, not like what we've seen in the original group or Cinderella Project - at least in the new CG anime, but that's how I know.

Don't take this 'passing the torch' thing mindlessly, because it is important to get the right person to take it. But since they all belong to Project iM@S, if you're going to say '765PRO should only pass their torch to their direct juniors, not to a group from a different agency' I won't reject, but bare in mind that CG has a more solid foundation than ML does.

Like I said, they won't put 765PRO Allstars away this quick, because it's hard to accept their retirement, and you all know what fans can do.

Cue the second 918 incident!!

Yeah they have. They sang Thank You together in Live The@ter Performance 13, and at least two or three of them covered GO MY WAY!! together. They're also seen frquently often in radio shows and especially the manga.
