It really was a buzzkill, what with leaving people out during what could be lengthy matches; this is virtually why I wanted MK8 in there.

A compromise I can think of is to enact two-stock rounds, as seen in competitive. Feeling there isn't enough leverage with timed rounds.

But overall, though, you might as well blame Sakurai for the lack of a lobby spectator mode -- and it's a legitimate complaint in this case.

And yes, I do remember that. Thinking it was well-timed rather luck, since I was practically obvious with said Final Smash as an airhorn.

In other words, very important Get-Together announcement for those who attend:
Due to the growing number of players, I have decided to extend our time playing Mario Kart 8. Rather than 2 sets of 4 races, we will now do 3 sets of 4 races. This will be in effect starting this Friday as to give more players more play time without having to do many elimination rules like we did for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

Suppose I'll be the one to reflect on last Friday, to which I deem a particularly great day for having Okayu join us. Kawaii~.

First major thing was Mario Kart 8, with the most we've had playing. The Blue Shell can also go fuck itself, sometimes; at one point it made me lose to mariokirby -- or Sonny -- 51 to 50 in the final scoring. Pretty much a kick to the jaw, but fun was had.

It also didn't help Seth was a constant cock block, what with two instances of him blowing up my Triple Reds with Bob-ombs -- even though I had Sonny dead in my sights. Consider the former his guardian angel/plot device/deus ex machina. D:<

To my consolation and great amusement, though, one just couldn't forget the time I literally stole Sonny's win with a Blue Shell from second place. I mean, damn, even I'd believe I was running a trainer or something. Looking forward to more~.

I'll confess.  I lost to Arturo during a round of Smash.  He did a well-timed focus attack when he was Ryu.  Be careful guys.  Arturo's been practicing hard.  He's going to be placing 1st from now on.
