And Sam, besides the fact that I like the motif and the artstyle, I think it's a creative idea in there. It would have been easy to just make everyone into dolls, including Yayoi, and that would not at all have been as good.

Yayoi Takatsuki Reporting for duty. The Emmerian Freedom Fighter.

Yayoi was born in the peaceful nation of Aurelia and lived a quiet life during the Belkan and Circum-Pacific Wars. Her reasons for pursuing military service are unknown but her fellow 765 pilots speculate that she wanted to become a stunt pilot after watching several Emmerian Air Shows. After her graduation from flight school Yayoi decided she would finish real school before continuing her military service. For her protection, but mainly to keep an eye her, the Emmerian air command assigned Lt Cmdr Azusa to moniter her as she continued her civilian studies. The two became quite close and became almost inseperable. However it was on one faithful day as Yayoi was headed for school that the Federal Republic of Estovokia initiated a suprise attack on Gracemeria. Yayoi and her classmates were quick enough to find shelter in the sewers before the street above was destoryed by Estovokian bombers. Azusa would latter find the remains of Yayoi's schoolbus and believe that she died in the attacks. Yayoi would throughout the war organize a resistance movement that would steal supplies and intelligence from the occupying forces. She and Azusa were reunited shortly before the Capitals Liberation.

Somehow, this has ended up being one of my favourite iDOLM@STER pics ever. The first time I saw it, I felt that maybe everything iM@S is only something Yayoi thought up in her imagination, while making those ghosts Teruterubozu one Sunday afternoon.

What do you do about their ages?
After all, it's kind of hard to believe Takatsuki can graduate flight school and do military service at the age of 14.

the ages would be kept the same i would just have to say she was trained at 13. which makes perfect since if your a top secret flight program. In the world of aviation smaller pilots can take more g forces before blacking out and its been proven that women can handle more g forces than men so if your a country whose looking for pilots who can be pushed to the extreme than young women make sense. but your right 14 is pretty young i may have to bump her up but then i'd have to do that to Ami and Mami and God knows what havoc might be unleashed if i do so i'll just leave the ages alone. as for military service the Emmerian-Estovokian war was only about one year so she'd be about 15 at the end of the conflict.
