Howdy!

Hi, I'm Eury. I've been lurking this place for a few years now (mostly the wiki) and decided to join up.
I've had an interest in Idolmaster for a while, even since I found a picture of Makoto while browsing tags in Danbooru or something ages ago. I found out she was from Idolmaster and honestly didn't think much of it until the anime was announced, then I got hooked.
So I've been feasting on content from here (thanks!) and other sources and even bought some merchandise. I'm very proud of my Beach Queen Makoto, Rin and Hibiki Figmas.
I have very little to bring to the community, don't know Japanese, can't edit, not a ton of disposable income, elementary photoshop skills, bad opinions...
I do play Million Live regularly. Daily if the event has a prize I'm interested in.

I'm in the market of joining a new lounge.
Other than Million Live I don't play any of the other games due to the language barrier or other hurdles (IMAS Channel is too good for my filthy foreign money or something).
Favorite idol? Makoto - No contest, but I'm really fond of Hibiki and Noriko and the "Cool" and "Dance" type idols.

So what is it about Makoto that makes her your favorite idol? I think Makoto's a great character, but I can't quite identify exactly what I like about her. ??? I guess the fact that she's sympathetic towards her friends is a factor, and also Yukiho's rejection of Makoto's feminine side is quite comical. ^^

That's a good question. On surface level I just like the tomboy archetype, I may have found her searching that tag or something. The more I learned about her from media I just liked her more and more learning how she fit into some of the old tropes and how she doesn't in a lot of other cases. I sympathize with her liking feminine things, but not quite being able to utilize them to their fullest. (But I think she pulls off simple, elegant feminine things, like a nice sundress, perfectly.)
I think Makoto really shines when she is foiled in contrast to other idols like Yukiho, Haruka, Iori, and Yayoi and vice-versa she makes them shine. It's really neat that she can be the ultimate straightman or the comical one in her interactions, especially with Yukiho, like you said.

Nice to meet you! I'm a huge Makoto fan too, mostly due to being able to sympathize with her in more ways than one. We even both got trapped in elevators as children, so I think I deserve bonus points for that. :P
