Aion's thread
« on: August 03, 2009, 06:06:37 am »
I'm playing the beta version of a pretty insane MMO you probably know : Aion.

Anyone's playing or willing to play it around ?

Here's some pics of my character, Allura

http://www.gamekult.com/blog/kaminos/153180/AION+Petits+screens+de+mon+perso.html

Pretty cute, isn't she ?

Aion is a Korean MMO by NCsoft (Lineage, Guild Wars, etc) that will soon be released in USA and Europe. You can access the beta if you preorder the game (well, it's the case in France at least).
It has amazing graphics and doesn't require a powerful computer (pretty contradictory, huh ?). The music themes are really good and the whole gameplay / quests / storlyline thing is also very interesting.

Yeah, she's cute alright. *shot by someone here XD*

Seeing as this is the same people who made Lineage and Guild Wars, that game will be here in.....um....2-3 years time. XD I'll tell you what I think of it by then.

I was interested in this a year ago, not so much anymore.
Play any MMORPG for a few years and the rest seem the same, with the exception of Ragnarok Online since it's not your usual click on the monster until it dies while spamming F-keys and doing nothing with the mouse.
Had enough of grinding, only masochists will want to grind in games.

I'm not a big fan of MMORPG. It's been two years since I played any PC games. Aion looks pretty interesting though.

Edit: Your character is pretty cute Kaminos.

I was considering picking this one up, masochism and time killing is right up my ally.
If I picked up this game I was wondering if I should make a character based on Ryo or Yayoi >< lol!

Wow! That graphics will hurt my video card.
(Doesn't require a powerful computer? Nah, impossible.)
To relax and do nothing is the greatest luxury:)

I have yet to see any MMO that can obliterate my old computer as much as R2 did, lowest settings and resolution still made the damn thing stutter at 30~40fps.

Open beta now closed, was a nice ride.
Now the fun part: the Japanese VAs that will be present in the Japanese version of the MMO.
And not just any names, mind you.

Tutorial/System voice: Teh Noto Mamiko (Kotomi in Clannad, Hecate in Shana, Cordelia in Valkyria Chronicles, etc. You know the one).

Next, character voices.
Koyasu Takehito: Never heard about him? Well, too bad, but you know him already. It's THE MOTHERFLOBBING KUROI..
Hoshi Soichiro: Shounen/Takeshi in Ever17, Gino in Code Geass, Keiichi in Higurashi, etc.
Jurouta Kosugi: Kouma in Melty Blood, Tama in Hayate no Gotoku, etc.
Takahashi Naozumi
Ohara Sayaka: Selvaria in Valkyria Chronicles, Milly Ashford in Code Geas, Belpeol in Shana, Yasuko in Toradora, etc.
Kana Ueda: What, want the whole list? Off the top of my head: Rin in Fate/stay Night, Sakuya from Hayate no Gotoku, Hayate in the Nanoha series, Sara in Ever17, Yumi in the Marimite series and that's all I remember at the moment.
Nonaka Ai: Fuuko in Clannad, Kafuka in SZS.
And finally Haruka Tomatsu, which is Ai in iM@S DS, among others (Nagi in Kannagi).

Full list, along with wiki links here.
Needless to say, I'll be swapping voice files ASAP.

>< i played a little at the end of the open beta, there was some lag problems (but according the beta forum, this was common for people and not necesarily my comps problem) It LOOKS great for the little I did get to play.
From others I know that were able to play on the closed beta the later game sounded good and very well rounded (compared to other MMOs).
Depending on if they fix the lag for the live game this may be my next time killer besides search Im@s and anime hehe.
And don't go assasin, it's difficulty in play isn't rewarding compared to the other classes @@

Oho... That name.
I c wut u did thar...

Funny thing is, I went to an Internet Cafe in Korea called "Aion PC"
Lol, but nobody played Aion there. Its all Starcraft and Warcraft with touches of perhaps Maplestory or Counterstrike

If I'm invited by Kaminos, I'd like to comply.
But then again, "Preorder" sounds like there's a $-requirement.
If that's so, sorry but I'm out...
... Wait.
Tutorial/System voice: Teh Noto Mamiko (Kotomi in Clannad)
Ohara Sayaka: Yasuko in Toradora, etc.

The only Rahnarok Online I ever play now are the private servers. XD

Anyway, I tell ya, Aion's graphics are amazing. I really hope it comes to SEA.
