Hello
« on: March 07, 2015, 02:11:35 am »
Hello. I realized I never made an intro thread so here is one.

I got into iM@S through the 2011 anime back when it aired. After that I started learning Japanese and exploring what else iM@S had to offer and have been following it consistently since for almost four years now.

Q: Do you play iM@S?
A: Yes. As of writing this post I own iM@S 2, OFA, and Shiny TV. I've also played some of the other games a bit. I'd like to own the xbox 360 games eventually as well.

Q: Who is your fave idol?
A: Chihaya.

Q: Why is your username "Okayu"?
A: In iM@S 2 there's a scene where Chihaya is sick and Producer takes care of her. He ends up cooking Okayu for her. That scene stood out to me so I decided to pick that as a name. My title is also a Chihaya reference, but I'll let you figure that one out yourself.

Okayu, congrats on becoming a mod! :D

About your title; are E4-G4-D3-B3 musical notes?

Grats from my side as well.

And i guess they are musical notes. I tried to play them in various rhythm combinations, but i can't make them sound familiar.

My favourite quintet is Chihaya/Mami/Hibiki/Azusa/Yukiho and you can easily guess my favourite trio. ;)  As for duos, I'm fond of both Chihaya/Azusa and Chihaya/Yukiho (both Azumin and Yurishii). Here is "CHANGE!!!" in all the versions I've mentioned:

http://youtu.be/dJtTckQ3w9Q

And here is "I want" by Chihaya and Yukiho

with Azumin:

with Yurishii:

What do you think? Their voices blend together so well! ;)
As for interactions, I want to make a special topic, but I don't know how should I name it without the "pairing" word.

I'm fine with Azusa and Chihaya and Yukiho and Chihaya as well. Azusa and Chihaya sang a lot together on the radio shows so I'm used to hearing them. There's a lot of nice radio only covers uploaded. Yes Namco reused some of these covers.

Even though late, but Welcome.  (Reminds me I need to do an intro but too lazy).

I said it the millionth time, but thank you so much for your translations.

I'm sure everyone know this, but it's also a reference to Chihaya's final mail in Idolm@ster 2.

I think so.  When it comes romance she often gets too embarrassed expressing it directly.

In the Idolmaster 2 story (for those who haven't played it) you actually confess first though indirectly (you basically told her dead brother that "I love her" while Chihaya was sleeping on your shoulder.  The irony is that she was actually listening.  When she tried to bring it up the following day after her throat was fully healed, she got too embarrassed and couldn't finish her sentence.

She stopped at "You said you lo......" or something like that.

I really like the romance implications in Chihaya's story in the Idolm@ster games.

This is just my fanfiction mind speaking out.  But, sometimes I would like to imagine an ideal producer who can pair up with Chihaya (she's the best woman in the world after all).  A producer that's same age as Chihaya, athletic, kind, cool, and experienced a dark past similar to Chihaya and thus can sympathize with her.  Obviously, I have more to say (I know my fanfics sound kind of lame), but I think you get the picture.

Oh, my, God. :o (You made me wanna buy iM@S 2 and find out exactly what happened immediately. XD)

I actually have quite the same fan fiction like yours; the more you get along with her, the more you know about her, thus you have a will to protect this girl and wish to give her a bright future.

Here are the videos of the major story events for Chihaya in Idolm@ster 2.  You can find the scene I mentioned in week 55.

If you really want to play Idolm@ster 2 I highly suggest using this guide...

http://imas2.wota.info/home

It even has idol communication choices.

The game mechanics in the game are kind of different compared to One for All.  You have very limited time to complete tasks required for the true ending.  So, there is little room for mistakes.  Also, you need certain amulets like the decay amulets and master the "Two focus style" to score well on stages/festivals.  Which means you probably have to play the main game (not necessarily the entire thing) to collect the items/costumes you need before restarting a new game with those items on hand so that you can beat all the festivals on time.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to see every promotion scene for one idol in one playthrough.  The game is meant to be played multiple times to view all promotions, which I never did.  I just got the true ending.

Sounds like a difficult task.  If you don't want to play, you can watch the videos I posted.  That's pretty good enough. If you do want to play Idolm@ster 2, then we will be more than willing to help you out.

Wow, thanks for sharing those videos! I'm sure I'll just enjoy them since I know iM@S 2 requires slightly more technique than OFA does. Due to my terrible Japanese and physical coordination, I'm afraid even if I know what I should do, it'll take forever for me to beat the game for just once.

Awesome!  I'm glad we think alike.  You and I are going to be good buddies.

Ha ha no problem, my friend! ;D
