What's Up
« on: February 08, 2015, 06:13:33 am »
I used to be on here a long time ago (during my weeaboo phase), but it's been years and I don't even remember my old account haha

I'm not terribly into Idolmaster anymore, but since my current focus hasn't released anything new in five months (and it doesn't look like anythings coming soon) I figured I'd try to get back into the community.

Anyway! I'm Lilliana, and I'm 20 years old. I turn 21 next month, and the #1 thing on my wishlist is gold leggings ☆☆☆
I love fashion and I'm a cheapskate ($20 is too much!), so I usually get great deals for cute stuff~ Can I break away and brag about my favorite save? I bought a pair of $100+ shoes for $13! Macy's doesn't mess around, bruh.

Anyway, anyway. My favorite idol from the games is Azusa, and the group I p much left the fandom for is Morning Musume. (Sorry?)

Welcome (back) to the forums, Lilliana!

Its always great to save money. That's why I always do my own personal clothes shopping at Burlington! Hey, finding a $60 hoodie for $13 is a steal!

Thanks!

I know right! My town doesn't have a Burlington, but I went to one with my cousins in Texas. It was so great! I got a cute top for $5 and a huge Betsey Johnson bag for $25 (originally $108). It was a little too much for me, but I love Betsey Johnson so much it was worth it haha!

I never left my interest in anime and Japanese things, if anything I've only gotten more deeper into it through studying Japanese. I wish I could have gotten into imas sooner back when this place was more active.

In an interview for the arcade game they stated that 765 was inspired by galge and Morning Musume (the group at the time anyways).

Quote
Ishihara wanted to make a game that would make players want to come back to play every day, which would be tied to the growth of video arcades. Ishihara realized that players would need an emotional attachment to the game for them to play it every day. With the target audience to be male players, Ishihara thought that a raising simulation where players could befriend girls and young women would lead players to form a strong emotional attachment for the game.

Video game producer Junichirō Koyama also points out that the concept of developing a simulation game featuring girls was influenced by the positive reception of bishōjo games such as Tokimeki Memorial and the horse raising simulation arcade game Derby Owners Club. While developing the game, Koyama realized that most bishōjo games at the time focused on specializing characters for players' specific tastes, which he felt was detrimental to the community surrounding such games. Therefore, one of Koyama's goals in developing the game was to restore a community where players would discuss what parts of which characters they like or find cute.  Ishihara focused on developing realistic characters because of his view that there were too many bishōjo games at the time that had characters who were developed to be convenient for the player. Ishihara wanted to place the burden of an idol's mistakes on the player for not training her enough to deepen a player's attachment with the idols.

Originally, the protagonist was going to be put in the role of the idol's manager, but it was later changed to the idol's producer because the latter was perceived to be "cooler". The developers employed motion capture to present a realistic view of the characters—not only during normal gameplay, but also during performances, which were rendered using motion capture from professional dancers. The staff wanted to strike a balance with the character designs so they would not appear too moe. It was decided from the start the characters would be rendered using 3D graphics, so Toshiyuki Kubooka was chosen to do the character design because his art could be easier translated into 3D.

The idols of Morning Musume were used as an influence to create character types in The Idolmaster traditionally found in bishōjo games.

By the way someone said this song sounded Morning Musume-ish, what do you think?

Welcome back!

I registered in late 2011, so I've been on here for a while but not since the beginning. Do you remember me? ^^

Sorry, I don't think I do. I was around early on (I actually joined a month or so before Scotty. I still remember when the forums were pink!), but I think I left early on too? Morning Musume was going through it's revival era in 2011, so I'm 95% sure I left before that. Sorry OTL

Ah, ok. Don't be sorry. :) Pleased to meet you!

This place was very lively when anim@s and puchimas were airing. It's still my favorite forum today!

I never really lost interest in Japan and anime, I just kind of lost interest in idolmaster and 2D idols entirely. I moved on to 3D idols, since there was more going on with them at the time and i didn't know much about them.

Yeah, I heard about that. And since the prototype/testing happened in like what 2000? 2002? That fits right in with when Momusu was at the height of their popularity.

And yeah, Machiuke Prince definitely feels Morning Musume-ish. Probably more Berryz Koubou-ish to me though? Oh well, they're sister groups so it doesn't really matter.

I can imagine! Is it not as lively as it was even though Cinderella Girls is airing?

It could be as lively now, but I haven't really been into Cinderella Girls, so a lot of the talk about CG goes over my head. I'm starting to learn more about it, though, since I've been watching the CG anime.

Yeah, I really long time ago back when I first joined. I wanna say around 2007 or 2008. I think we had a slightly different url at the time too? and we definitely didn't have the wiki yet.

Hello!

The moderators, admins, and a lot of other people (besides Yunabeco and others) here weren't as active as before. Fortunately, this forum is pretty tame behavior wise, so that's that. I was actually came to this forums years ago (when its pink of course) but I didn't make an account here until last June. As for liveliness, it usually occurs when things get announced (DLC, CDs (there's the Master Artist 3 CDs, SideM ST@RTING LINE, and others coming soon), and other merchs).

Ohhh okay. I heard about it when it first came out, and I see it on my dash a lot (tumblr) but I didn't really care much. I haven't even been watching to anime because I've been trying to track down some Momusu merch lol
