Nice to meet ya!
« on: February 02, 2015, 07:42:25 am »
Hello everyone! I'm CJ! (calling me excavate is ok) I live in California and i'm a Junior in high school at the moment.

I got into iM@S about 2 years ago when I gave the anime a chance because my brother would always watch it, and loved it ever since.

I came across this site because I wanted to look up lyrics for a song and it gave me so much more. I wouldn't know anything about the idols if this website wasn't here.

Recently I bought iM@S 2 and with the help of the translated guide, I did my first run of the game and it was amazing yet agonizing.
Other than that, I haven't played any other imas games because I can't find a guide for them.

My favorite idol is Hibiki because i'm a sucker for the ponytail and bangs hairstyle

I'm currently learning Japanese in hopes of not needing a guide in the future and so I can communicate with my cousins.

Other than breathing imas, I play a lot of fighting games (street fighter and tekken mainly but I also play P4AU,DFC) and KOF, a bit of league of legends every now and then, mixed with a little bit CS and COD.
I go out and bike a lot because I enjoy it despite the fact that I love staying inside a lot. Also, I can't drive yet.

I hope I can meet a lot of P's to talk to and have a good time.

Nankurunaisa!

Hi, welcome to the forums!

Hibiki is one of my favorites too. I honestly feel like she can do anything :P

I got into fighting games kinda recently, but I think I can say I play a lot too. Do you play Mortal Kombat, Injustice, or Soul Calibur? I've been playing those the most.

Welcome to the forums, CJ!

Yes, another fighting game player! Especially someone who plays KOF! Which one is your favorite?

I'm VERY into fighting games and have played almost all the major franchises, though my top games are Injustice and Super Smash Bros. Wii U.

I also happen to bike very often. Two to three times a week all over my town.

Hope you enjoy your stay.

Welcome!

Learning Japanese to communicate with your cousins sounds like a great idea. :)

Did you know that Yukiho has a song called EXCAVATE?

I'm not a huge fan of NetherRealm games but I enjoy playing them whenever I get a chance to play them. I've played Soul Calibur a bit but I sort of stopped playing a few months ago.

My favorite would probably Tekken but street fighter does come very close because I grew up with it

Nice to see that there is quite a few younger im@s fans.
Your story is a lot like my own, I had a friend (who was ironically called CJ too), who introduced me to the anime, and everything took off from there.

I've tried a few fighters and such, but couldn't really get into them that much.
I casually play brawl on wii from time to time, but my family aren't gamers so... welp.

Honestly I haven't touched my old bike for like, 6 years.
I can't really wander outside of my neighborhood without as it turns off into a 6 lane highway. and there's no sidewalk on my side of the road

Anyways! I hope you enjoy your stay.
Your #1 favorite im@s song? (don't wuss out on me and say you love them all  ;))

Actually, I just asked who do you main in Tekken (Kazuya and Asuka here. Although I don't play Tag 2 myself because I don't have a console anymore, nor do I buy games with online pass).

Well, everyone has a different taste in games! I've jumped between genres more times than I should have.

Thanks! That's a really tough question for me. To be honest, I don't like a very small amount of the im@s songs. I think i'll have to with Chihaya's  細氷 (Saihyou). I really like the orchestral music in that song

Oh, that's what you meant. Sorry! My main team is Alisa/Bob. Are there any arcades near your area that have tag 2 cabinets? I always try to a nearby arcade whenever I have time. Also, Are you exited for Tekken 7? I'm thinking about learning how to play Kazumi (if she's a playable character) just because she is voiced by Yumi Hara.

I don't think you can even find a Tag2 cab outside of Asia. They require online connection to work and Bamco sayid in Avoiding The Puddle interview that there aren't enough potential clients to expand the network to the west.

Also, I'm from Poland and arcades are almost dead here, except for seaside towns (at least the ones full of tourists). But the only games I'm seeing here these days are lightgun shooters and racers. Rest has been phased out in favor of prize "games" and air hockey, which of course attract more families and randoms that aren't interested in games. Even my beloved (despite being in a rather bad state) PiU disappeared a few years ago. ;_;
At the very least it looks like HOTD2/Time Crisis 2 and OutRun 2 seem to be safe, so I still have a reason to go there.

Am I excited for T7? Of course! Especially since I prefer 1on1 to tag and there are rumors of it coming to PC (I don't even have a HDTV still, so even if I bought a PS4 I wouldn't have anything to connect it to).

Also, kinda interesting - Hbiki fan and Tekken player, considering "Electric Fountain" BG form Tekken 6 and Hibiki's "Next Life" are simmilar and apparently "Next Life" is based on that Tekken BGM. Not gonna lie, I wasn't expecting to hear a Psytrance (or rather based on it) track in iM@S. Turned out nice, though.

Well, there are a very small amount of cabinets here in North America. But they're in very specific areas and most (if not, all of them) are under a Round 1 arcade.

That's unfortunate. Everyone's best bet (with the exception of Japan and Korea) is to hope for a console or PC version to release shortly after the arcade release.

I read about that and it made me like Electric Fountain and Next Life a lot more. Tekken tunes is amazing, playing tag 2 with im@s music in the background is great.
