I spend waaaaaaay too much time with these intro threads. Thankfully you guys have a handy template that I will use c:

Personal Info:

Real Name: Barbara
Gender: Female
Country of Origin: USA
Age (upon joining): 19
Hobbies: Vidja gams, anime, writing, watching lps, CAAAAARD GAAAAAAMES (weiss, kinda vanguard, kinda buddyfight, WIXOSS, mlp)

=Q&A=

Q: How did you come across this site?
A: I noticed a lot of idolm@ster videos had a link for requests and I followed it here

Q: Why did you join this site?
A: Mostly to talk idols and fill/ ask for requests (once I have recording equipment)

Q: Do you play it?
A: I got OFA this December and I've played it nearly nonstop (Hibiki is a top idol, Makoto on her way)

Q: Who is your fave idol?
A: 3 way tie between Makoto (oldest fave), Ritsuko, and Hibiki (newest fave)

Q: Why is your username "Seibo"?
A: It's sort of based off the Narukami (Cardfight Vanguard) heal trigger "Dragon Nymph, Seiobo." It's sort of my Go to username, but when I first made it I forgot the first 'o' but I like the way it sounds.

Q: What are you in to right now?
A: Uhhh...s-stuff?

Q: What is your motto?
A: The 'A' isn't for 'Ally'

Q: Who's your favorite singer(s) right now?
A: Other than catchy J-pop I'm mostly a metal person with a splash of everything else. Buuuuuut Blind Guardian's got a new album soon so let's go with them.

Q: What are you up to right now?
A: Home for break and playing OFA.

Q: Do you have any expectations from this site?
A: I'm hoping to contribute to request filling and possible compendium upgrades once I get recording equipment. I like looking at different idol combinations and songs and stuff so I tend to check out the video links in the request board.
==

So I guess that's me :)

Welcome to the fold, Barbara. More love for Ricchan is always a boon. :3

What's more, it's nice to share the mind-set; I've also a strong inclination to provide towards the iM@S compendium. Things have been rolling at modest pace owing to life things -- like the fact I've yet to afford a decent recording PC, but you know~.

In regards to anime, which genres are you partial of? I dig those supernatural thriller or sci-fi dramas with a side of romance/tragedy, myself. Currently watching Parasyte and Accel World because they're the shit. :3

Honestly my anime tastes' are kind of sporadic. On the one hand I love uber masculine manly man type shows (JoJo, basically any sports anime), and on the other fru-fru girly shoujo (magical girl genre and other stuff). I do enjoy some of the darker more adult side of anime -what with Madoka kinda being my all time favorite- but I'm a sucker for somewhat guilty pleasure material. I'm currently watching Akatsuki no Yona (Historical Shoujo where the main girl actually does stuff :3) and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure cause I started it awhile ago but now I'm kinda marathoning it.

You actually have OFA? How is it? I might get it if I ever get my own PS3.

Hey, welcome! We haven't had a new member start an intro thread for two weeks, which feels like a long time!

So why are Makoto, Ritsuko and Hibiki your favorites?

Late by what? Four hours? ^_^;;

Either way, welcome Seibo. The Cinderella Girls anime is coming out in a few days, so hopefully we can catch it on Crunchy or something. I haven't been watching much anime lately, since the Fall season started without me. I have been watching Inou Battle, but my queue is stacking up and it's not clearing any time soon. ;_;

Oh you aren't late at all. This forum is very welcoming and I'm not use to places being so quick to respond to these sorts of threads. :3

I don't really have a frame of reference for OFA since it's the first idolmaster game I've ever played and I have about a 1st grader's level of Japanese reading comprehension. I definitely enjoy the endless pacing of the game, which is extremely useful when I only mostly understand what's going on. It's great being able to experience all of the idol's routes in one save and it's pretty forgiving. It still has plenty of challenge in the higher ranked jobs so I find it a good mix of difficulty. I decided to get OFA over imas2 because I wanted to get all the new DLC. But...man is that expensive! I've already spent $150 and I have like...5 songs and 6/7 outfits OTL.

Hey, welcome! We haven't had a new member start an intro thread for two weeks, which feels like a long time!

So why are Makoto, Ritsuko and Hibiki your favorites?

I started watching Youtube videos of idolmaster when I was in middle school (so probably circa '09ish) and Makoto was definitely my favorite at the time. I'm a tomboy myself so I like tomboy characters and stuff. However, I realized during the anime that Makoto is sooooo gosh darn cute! And it's like, I tend to have mixed feelings about tomboy characters going girly (Rin from Lovelive comes to mind) but I just absolutely adore the way they handle it with Makoto. Not to mention her voice is amazing and I really love how she offsets most of the cast.

I originally didn't like Ritsuko's costume style or her braids when I first found out about idolmaster. A few years ago I did a complete 180 and found myself in love with the classic style Ritsuko.  I really like her laidback but doesn't take crap from others sort of personality. And I looove Naomi Wakabayashi's voice work, both for her singing and just her casual conversation. The main thing I like about Ritsuko's singing is the power and the passion that comes out. And it just sounds like she's having fun while singing and I really enjoy that.

Hibiki sort of accidentally became one of my fav's over the course of playing OFA. While I was waiting for the game to arrive, I decided I would create some trios and duos with the help of the imas compendium. I originally wanted a trio that involved Makoto, Ritsuko, and someone else with Ritsuko being the center. And I was watching videos and comparing voices when I happened across Hibiki and thought she really worked, both in voice and in costume coordination. I was content with that pairing until I realized that Ritsuko would work better with my Takane Chihaya group so I switched out Ritsuko with Iori. So with my new trio of Makoto, Hibiki, and Iori I felt that Hibiki was the best for the center position (once again due to voice and costume coordination). So to have that carry over to OFA once I finally got it I decided to start with Hibiki.

After that I was really enamored with her personality. I was honestly kind of turned off by her personality quirk of just "having lots of animals" cause I thought that was her main trait but I was SO WRONG. Oh my gosh she's so cute! Hamusou is so cute! EVERYTHING IS CUTE! And having her be my main idol in the game made an instant connection with the character. I'm usually hesitant to "Nya~ish" voices but for some reason Hibiki's voice isn't grating whatsoever. And I love her singing voice. I like that she can hit some of the low notes like Makoto but she can still work with some of the more cutesy songs (which I find to be Makoto's weakness).

Late by what? Four hours? ^_^;;

Yeah, I've been hearing a lot about Cinderella Girls so I'll probably check it out. I haven't kept up with much of the idolmaster anime stuff. I need to watch the movie eventually. There's always not enough time to watch everything.

You're really good at justifying your favorites! :) If I had to do the same thing, I'd have to rewatch all the idolmaster animes and relisten to all the CDs while writing down my thoughts as soon as they come to mind, otherwise I wouldn't be able to post anything! I'll just say that my favorites right now are Haruka, Chihaya, Ami, Mami, Takane and Hibiki. If you haven't watched much of the anime yet, be prepared for a somewhat two-dimensional Ritsuko. Her own episode was good, but I think that in the other episodes her personality is pretty condensed.

I don't think sports anime are really considered masculine at this point; most of the newer sports anime are very clearly nothing but fujoshit bait lol Anyway, welcome to the forums.

Oh believe me there were plenty of nights that I just stayed up thinking about this sorta stuff. I haven't listened to any of the CDs so I mostly go off of the S4U game footage for my thoughts on voices and stuff. I haven't read through any translations of the stories (other than description on wikis and so-forth) so a lot of my opinion is on singing voice and delivery. Although it took me awhile to like some of the other idols (Haruka in particular) because I was introduced to them when I was a very judgey middle schooler XD

I have watched the anime just not the movie yet. I did like Ritsuko's episode but the one part I didn't like was the song in the end. I have no idea if I'm in the minority but Ippai Ippai is one of the few songs I don't really like Ritsuko on (OTL). I much prefer Mahou wo Kakete because I think her voice just sounds really good in that image song. But I did like seeing Ritsuko as a producer, even if she did have to lose the braids XD

I don't think sports anime are really considered masculine at this point; most of the newer sports anime are very clearly nothing but fujoshit bait lol Anyway, welcome to the forums.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Is it bad that I'm a fan of sports anime purely for the feels? Idunno, I get super teary when man-bonding in onscreen (and not even the shipping kind). I don't even like sports irl but I love that crap in anime form. Though I will totally admit I've seen the trend.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah, DLC is expensive. Hopefully you're keeping up on the catalogs though, since retro freebies happen pretty often if you're quick (+ it'll practically be a requirement if you want to handle requests for OFA in future).

In any case, welcome to the forums (and yeah, nice to see another Ritsuko fan).
and yay magical girls go \ o/
