Aren't you the one who has been working on that? I mean you refer to it as if it's been a group effort, but looking at the recent edit lists it's usually the same handful of people. I'd be glad to help out with some of the story routes though. We could just focus on the easy to find merch first rather than things so niche they probably aren't up for sale even on Japanese auctions.

I've been working on it with help from others who have been editing on the wiki, who have also provided some valuable information such as the sources for in game stats, swatches, and even costume images. If you want to go ahead and start finding the merch with some other, be my guest. I just feel like it's more important to finish pages that are going to have higher traffic, like character pages, game related pages, other media pages like manga and the anime (which we really haven't even started on).

I really am sorry if I sound demanding or plain rude.. I got in a bike/car accident yesterday, not feeling great.

Really that's on them. This has been the go to wiki for me and others and has been for many years. Personally I really dislike wikia's format and much prefer this by fans for fans wiki.
Yeah I know, I'm sorry if it was unclear but I meant our current cluttered layout.

By the way, I was also meaning to ask.. But is there a reason we're keeping the Xenoglossia voice actors on the front page? It seems to me like since we don't have our own pages for them that they should just be added somewhere in the actual character page sections, not the main front pages also it's Xenoglossia so who really cares

Edit: Also I just wanted to mention I started looking for some costume swatches today, because I did notice a lot of the costume pages were empty. It's a little challenging for me to fill out a lot of the info though because I only own iM@S 2 and SP and rarely play SF, so I don't know which costumes appear there and where. I can just start creating pages, filling in what I know from the games I have.

Whether we like it or not (and it really is iM@S in name only >_>), it happened and we need to expand on it. Xenoglossia's pages need to mirror the anime's pages, and we really do need cast pages. However as their work is pretty much a spin off, we might as well take them off of the front page. It was suggested a while ago to have the Xenoglossia characters receive their own pages (like "Haruka Amami (Xenoglossia)"), since their profiles, songs, and storylines are so vastly different from the end of the franchise. That seems like a fairly good decision.

I know how you feel. What I had to do is set up a list of costumes by game like the Official Game Listing. I can make one for the wiki, but it may take me a bit. I only have DS on an emulator, so I just find as many videos and websites as I can and salvage what is available.

Yeah, I mean I think what I mean is that the main page should just have game/main franchise related material, but we of course expand on official spin-offs such as comics and Xenoglossia elsewhere. And since we don't actually have CV pages for the Xenoglossia voice actresses, it seems a little much to have them on the front page. Maybe instead we can create character pages for Xenoglossia like you mentioned? I don't know enough about Xenoglossia (I watched a few eps when it first aired and wasn't into it) to know how much of it is worth going into, but we can always get interested parties to write up some bits about the characters in the show or whatever.

I just think maybe our priority right now (I don't now if it was you or someone else who said this) is editing the pages that will most likely be receiving a lot of traffic, such as character pages and game-related stuff like costumes, ect, and the main front page of our wiki, which is extremely cluttered.

For instance, (just an idea, I am not really expecting many to agree with me) I feel like we could just have a link to a "Million Live! Dance Idols" page that would list off all the characters, and just do that for all the different categories? As well as doing that for things like "iDOLM@STER Radio series CDs" "Drama CDs" ect..

This way we could maybe just clear out the main page but people could still have easy access to those particular sections (that aren't necessarily directly related to the main console games/franchise

I can completely agree with this. Xenoglossia was never interesting to me, but I know several others find the series to be quite excellent. The website for the show is actually quite extensive, and a dedicated group could easily work on the pages.

I'm not so sure about this, as this sound more like the "categories" sections used to tag pages. Although, I will say that this needs to revamped on the wiki. Some CD's use the "CD/DVD" tag while others use the "Albums" tag. We probably need to split the "Official Broadcasts and Events" tag into "Official Broadcasts" or "Official Radio Shows" and "Official Events" tags.

Either way, we need a clear consensus that will be added to the wiki like the "Romanization Standardization and Clarifications" page. If not, nothing will get done. It'll end up like the stylization thread where no one agreed on anything and the number of effected pages is continuing to grow.

I agree, I don't know where the best place to take that up would be, I see there was a thread for it a little bit ago. We can take up the discussion there again (it's been awhile since I've been active on the Wiki, so I'm not sure what has yet to be decided, but I'd love to help get it sorted out.)

As far as I know the official Xenoglossia site has only the characters' profiles with short descriptions and two kinds of the episodes' previews (normal ones and from Haruka-Master's point of view). It's not really extensive for me... Maybe you know something that I don't?

I'm getting really annoyed by the lack of decision making we've been doing. No changes ever get decided on.

Until the movie came out, that was actually more extensive than the 2011 anime's website. THE IDOLM@STER only had their regular profile information with no description.

I created a chart much like the Official Songs Listing to display what games the costumes appeared in. Hopefully it can help.

The First Vision & DS costumes have been created. It's mostly just Second Vision that we need.

Well for an idea, we could put it to a vote? (It might be challenging to get that set up but it's probably the fairest way to go about it) Once we have the polls open a certain amount of time (a week is probably fair) we can close it and get to work implementing the new standards we decided on. As I said before, I'm not super aware what needs to be decided on in terms of romaji page names and whatever else. But we could create a poll and do it that way. I'm with you in that I'd like to just see it get decided on so we can work on it and leave it at that. We were figuring this out 4 years ago, there's no excuse to still be doing it.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who feels this way. I'm not quite sure how to conduct a vote.. Maybe a strawpoll? Either way, we need to decide what to vote on first. Some things can be easily be covered, like whether or not to remove the stylization choices from titles or to remove the doujin or merchandise pages. Others we may not be able to vote on at this time, like how to restructure the main page (we may want to hold a submission process instead).

Voted, but my computer may have submitted my vote twice. :/ Good job, self.

(Also regarding the ML unit names, the game itself doesn't really keep track of the spelling they use. For example, Chihaya has a card named Eternal Harmony, but there are lots of capitalization changes.)

Thank you so much for creating the poll! It's awesome. I'm so sorry you have to go the trouble of doing this all yourself, but I think at this point you have the best idea of what needs to be accomplished around here. I cast my votes, and I am so excited to finally determine these things so I can start helping out more and be more aware of what needs to get worked on.
