Producer also uses a male pronoun and talks like a guy. It's pretty obvious the producer is meant to be a guy but that doesn't mean girls can't play it.
And I'm not saying they can't - quite a bit of the forum's proof - just stating my observation. As it is, they seem to be trying to strike a balance now.

Maybe the anime adaptation ISN'T that great in terms of staying true, but then, considering the fact the main game is essentially structured by routes, they could either focus it on a particular idol (which would push away other idols' fans. I know Chihaya/Haruka got larger focus than others, but I believe the idea's understood - I think a lot of people would be miffed to see someone take all that money and effort and put it only on one) or take the method they did. (Or separate routes-by-episode, but with only 25 episodes, that would make for really bad and/or rushed pacing)

I think it's difficult to introduce people to the series by game-first, because of the fact it's near-purely import-based (unless your attempted convert owns an iPad, and I don't think Shiny Festa makes a good gateway). The only person who I know is an import gamer does not own a PS3 (and while I never asked, I doubt has a Japanese Xbox/360).

Hopefully that'll change in the future if they really do plan on a worldwide release.

I actually liked the l4u ova. You can't really expect it to cover much in 15 minutes.

I'd say willingness to get into the franchise is valued over what time someone came. If someone is new but is interested in fully exploring the content I think that's a good thing. Although admittedly many would prefer just viewing the adaptations.

The only person I've been able to convert to liking Idolm@ster is my boyfriend, but even he is only interested in the anime. Most anyone else I try to get into it just looks at it as "oh its basically k-on with idols and k-on is shit" no matter how I try to explain that the series is NOT like k-on and has much more depth. As far as the games go, none of my friends import games and also none of them like raising sim type games so I can't even get them to play the fantranslated PSP games.
