One For All Story Translations (spoiler)

Okayu made a detailed summary/translation of Chihaya's EX story Part 1 to 4 here. Because of this i really wanted to understand Yukiho's EX story in detail as well. I got the general idea when i was playing through it, but now i wanted to get the details as well.

So i started to translate it. Apart from knowing the whole story, i will also be a good exercise for my Japanese I'll ask my Japanese teacher about all the parts i don't understand or i'm not sure of. But since i only have lessons once a week and they only last an hour, the progress won't be very fast. I expected to do 1 part per week, but i had my first lesson today since i started this project and clearing up the points i don't understand takes more time than i thought, since i'm also getting a crash course on the grammar or speech patterns used.

I'll post the translations every time after my Japanese lesson. I intend to continue this until the very end of the EX story, i just hope i have the stamina to do so... and my teacher the patience :p

It's my first attempt at something like this and i'll stay close to the Japanese wording, which isn't what a good translation should do, but it's easier for me :p But this will lead to quite a bunch of unnatural sounding English sentences i would never write like this when i'd write it myself from scratch (not to mention that English isn't my native language either).
In that regard i'd like to make a disclaimer: I have trouble translating a lot of the Japanese expressions, expressions which don't have a real counterpart in English. A good example for this is "itadakimasu", even though it doesn't appear in Yukiho's story. I'm sure you have heard it a hundred times, and seen at least half as many translations, since there is no counterpart in English (although there is one in probably every other language in this world).

I'll also add the transcript of the story. I made it using this video, thanks a lot to Byuusan for uploading it (i guess Byuusama on youtube is Byuusan here ). Because of this i'll also stick to the commu choices he made in this video.


If anyone else wants to add their own translations, no matter how brief the summary is, please be welcome. I'm also happy if someone corrects any mistakes i made

Even i recommend using Namassuka?! Revolution video for such a thing as i don't like to do rerecord unless something occur during the original recording.

no worries Byuusan, i have the same issue. I wouldn't say my reading skill is only elementary, but i'm still too slow to choose properly. Often i can get the idea of 2 and then i have to decide for one of the 2 or going for neither of them, not knowing what the alternative is...

I'll continue with the Namassuka recording then from the second part on

Btw: Expect the next bit tomorrow. Probably until the end of part 1 of episode 2. Last week i spend half an hour of my japanese lesson on this translation, i want to cut it down to 20 minutes and just go as far as i get in that time.

Btw Byuusan, do you also intend to make these recordings for the next 4 episodes as well? I'm just wondering whether i need to make the transcriptions when i'm actually playing that story or if i can do it later.

Not for the moment, sorry. Getting the rest translated is already a lot of work for my level of japanese. And since there is no bad communication or whatever in the story elements, there is no "wrong" choice. To be honest, i'm glad Byuusan took this choice, i learned a lot from it, language wise Stuff i'v noticed several times in other places since i talked with my teacher about it.
