Volume 3 trailer. Tomorrow can't arrive soon enough.

Wasn't too impressed with the new OP, but that trailer looks really promising!

Just watched the first episode of Volume 3, and WOW.

Honestly, I ADORE the animation so much. I don't know why, but it seems so much smoother and transitions really well. They've definitely made Monty proud. also Ren my bby gets more lines yes yes I like

I actually did see improvement with the animation this time, especially during the action scene during the tournament. As you said, leave it to Monty's team to do him proud.

Wait, seriously? Hot damn, I think he might be the first big name VA attached to the project. Goes to show how popular the show's gotten!

Had to watch this thrice to digest everything with glee, so lets dig in~.

It's been the first five minutes in and I've already zeroed on a favourite moment -- that's the tender visit Ruby had with her mom, what with small talk and all. This affected me rather personally since I'd do the same with my sister, so needless to say Ruby shot up real high on my list for having that kind of priority. Coupled with the atmosphere and implied tribute, it makes a very fine start for Volume 3.

In regards to Ren, his new voice actor carries well, and what's more he's now done by Monty's brother -- a respectable gesture more than anything, so lets see how he evolves. Also, I really enjoy how well people are humanized by overall chemistry; Mercury and Emerald are a particularly fun pairing. Cinder has it going for her when she popped a kernel with her fingertips, too; that was suave.

Oh speaking of pairings, I was surprised when they chose Yang and Weiss to represent their team for the tournament.(the last pairing I'd expect lol)  But it makes sense after I thought about it(sorta).  Their strategy might be something like Yang being the offensive powerhouse while tanking all the damage and diverting attention from Weiss, who will play mostly support like buffing Yang using her glyphs/hindering enemies with her ice magic while trying to analyze them for weaknesses and come up with the most effective course of action.  Kinda confused how the system works, but I'm guessing Blake and Ruby will be paired up for their own matches as well?

IT'S TRUE I JUST WENT AND LOOKED IT UP it said "Yuri Lowenthal" in the credits and I was like "What?" so I looked it up and it's Mercury and I can't anymore I am sorry

I still need to get caught back up, haven't watched the third episode yet. ;-;

Anyone here watched the official japanese dub of rwby?
I got the Blu-Ray of Volume 1 from a friend.
The extras that come with it are great. many drawings by japanese artists
As for the dub, as expected from japanese VAs it is great!
Saori Hayami, Kaedes VA, did a great job as ruby!
And Minamis VA as Nora is just hilarious xD
But they did get a lot of great names for the japanese RWBY dub.
I just love to watch it over and over again

Lol I just had to look this up to believe it.  Rofl Ryuko Matoi as Yang?! She's gone JoJo.  And wow, Saori Hayami as Ruby is really unexpected.  She must like playing those scythe girls.(Owari no Seraph  )  Tbh, I was expecting someone with a squeakier voice for her, but Hayami could bring out a more mature Ruby.(tho I'm curious to hear her "geeking out" moments. XDD)

The subber got that wrong XD I have the original japanese Blu-Ray at home and this is the official japanese dub.
it would be a great coinsidence that fandub and original japanese dub have the same script and sound the same xD
but if you don't believe me, the original jp blu ray is available on nyaa
