You know, I'm pretty lazy too... The best time to cosplay is when you suddenly just have a whim to do something and then you buy some materials for it. I don't like backing out after investing money into it.

My last few cosplays (Street Hopper, Creamy Mami, and now this one) have been ideas I had just weeks before the con. Feels easier to be motivated when you've already signed up for the masquerade with the costume you haven't finished yet. ^_^;

This is from a few months ago at PHXCC. <3 I just adore cosplaying as idol characters.

So the skirt wings are almost complete.

I first started by making a shell out of stiff interfacing.


Once the shell is complete, I draped the black sequin dot fabric over it.


I sewed in the darts in trimmed the excess around the inner shell. Then I carefully glued this fabric to the shell and basted around the edges.


I carefully worked in the lining, giving the fabric some space to bunch a bit so when I'm wearing it it will be comfortable. (Think the same way the lining is 'bagged' in a jacket)


I repeated this process for the 'belt' part and then added a gold bias tape all the way around the edge:
