Well, that guy misjudged one or the other franchise by only 6 years, that can happen...
Was he corrected at least?

Yeah, someone had already beaten me to it.

The guy who was misled said he got his info from a biased panel host at his last convention.  So there's a prolly a bunch more out there who share the same misconception.  :-\

Almost forgot about this thread already lol.  Ah, I feel like my former saltiness towards LL has pretty much dissipated since I last posted here.(for now >.>)

Not bad.  Still the same Love Live genericness, which isn't a bad thing as I'm beginning to feel it's part of it's charm(?) and the characters don't seem half bad.  Crap, I'm getting addicted.  Yeah, I'm liking the voices too.  Think they harmonize a bit better/smoother than u's also.  That main girl(?) with the orange hair(Honoka 2.0) is pretty cute.  Fav shots at 0:59, 1:08, and 1:29.  Hoho, is that girl with short red pigtails supposed to be for all the Maki x Nico shippers? XD

Well, thanks to your post I remembered about the Love Live movie that's supposed to hit the theaters here in the US in a few days and I found out it's showing in my city.  Now I'm actually considering whether I should go or not just for the heck of it.  Damn, I need to decide fast, only tickets for the last showing left. O.O

Lol Kimi!  We have the same number of posts! *High touch*  ;D

I just came back from the LL movie screening in LA. It was fun to be among LLs. Maybe all those news articles tainted my impression of LLs doing weird and ...distasteful things, but the ones I met there were friendly and open (probably more-so than Producers!  :P )

As for the film, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I tried going through the first season to refresh my memory and I'm SO glad this film wasn't just a long or extended episode. It was really was an advancement for the characters and the fate of Muse. If you can find a theater in your area that has the screening of the film, I'd say go for it. I'm not deep into the LL lore, but I'd say this was right up there with Straight Outta Compton for films I've enjoyed this year. I wouldn't even be surprised if it even got an Oscar nod.

Also, if anyone wants to see pics of the event you can take a look at my Twitter feed. It was a nice time out, and this was the first time I've been to a theater where they allowed you to drink beer during the screening!:

That's so cool!  I'm planning on seeing it this Monday with my cousin(who knows next to nothing about the franchise lol).  I managed to snag some last minute tickets before they completely sold out in my area, thankfully.  This will be my first time seeing an anime film in theaters so I have no idea what to expect, but I'm hoping it will be a good experience.  I also made it one of my objectives to see what LLs are really like, and maybe meet some of them for espionage purposes.  So it's not like I'm actually excited to see the movie or anything like that... baka! >.>

Yeah, I really should get to doing that myself instead of just replaying Snow Halation over and over lol.  I remember liking the first season, that's prolly a good place to start for me to get back into it again.  Kotori, here I come!  ;)

I saw the movie because I felt compelled to when I convinced a local theater in my city to show it, and it was definitely Love Live! spirit. The character development was definitely interesting, and I'll be importing the Blu-ray as a Christmas gift for myself for sure! Kind of sad Muse is all over, but I'm sure Aquors will be equally as interesting.

Some news sites were being really distasteful toward the film, and you can tell they reviewed it for people who haven't even heard of the franchise. Just really strange to do that; probably best to leave it to the anime-oriented sites =P

Overall, movie was good.  It was pretty exciting.  I'm just gonna talk about the positives and the things I liked about the film without giving any spoilers.  So all the characters got a fair amount of screen time and as a person who fancies Kotori, I was quite pleased.  The visuals and animation were stunning, especially during the performances where the CG was a lot smoother and polished than in the anime and far less distracting(well, for me anyways).  I liked how generous they were with the amount of songs featured in it, which were pretty great by LL standards.

Something minor I noticed and liked.  I haven't seen anyone mention this yet like on MAL or anything so I'm not sure if anyone else caught it, but in their final performance they referenced(minor spoiler I guess) a few lines from START: DASH!!, so in a way it was like a callback to their first performance and how far they've come since then.  Got me good. T.T  The only reason I was able to notice it was because I was rewatching the first season beforehand and those particular lines from the song just stuck with me.

The experience itself was pretty neat.  The venue was a small, vintage non-profit art house theater run by volunteers that apparently has been running for decades.  They only have one screen and seating was very limited with a capacity of only 70.  The walls weren't that thick and since it was in the middle of downtown, you could hear the rolling of traffic outside, just barely though.  I thought it was charming place.  As for the fans who came to the screening, they were alright.  The makeup was around 60% male, 40% female.  I was kinda hoping to see some of those gung ho fans who would cosplay or wear all LL related clothing or something to make him/herself stand out as a fan.  There was one guy who brought his Kotori pillow.
While this apparently happened at another venue...
"There were also two kind souls who were giving out fanmade buttons and prints of Kotori they made to everyone there."  T.T
During the film, it was less lively than I had imagined.  Like there was almost no reaction(callouts or cheers or anything) during the special seiyuu intro before the movie, which made it kinda awkward and no clapping or cheers after each song performance(except the finale).  There were still some laughs during all the silly moments, and despite all that it was still really enjoyable.

I'm glad I decided to see this in theaters.  I now have a newfound respect for the series, something I sorta wish I'd discovered sooner.  And I'm actually excited to see what Aquors will bring us.

^Wow. My theater wasn't a madhouse, but the atmosphere was pretty chill and the audience cheered, laughed and clapped at the appropriate moments. I even mentioned a few folks there in my blog about it. Maybe it's because my theater were pretty generous with the selections of beer they offered. I know I got tipsy midway through viewing  ;)

I have a new appreciation for the series, too, at least. I don't enjoy the music all that much (Imas spoiled me!). It's has a great flow and build-up as a series, though.

Before I forget again, some things I noticed from rewatching the series, sorta im@s related.

Hah, this definitely reminds me of something.(sorry Mio, couldn't resist XD) Also speaking of which...

Didn't know Mio's and Nana's VAs were casted here also.  From left to right: Nozomi Yamamoto(Rika, knew about this one), Sayuri Hara(Mio), Marie Miyake(Nana).  I thought it was pretty cool(and surprising) that u's most loyal supporters were all CG cast.  :D

And I still can't find a crossover pic of Kotori snuggling Uzupaka so this'll have to do.

Yeah, I'm liking the voices too.  Think they harmonize a bit better/smoother than u's also.

got the single now and I must say, I really like aquors... they harmonize much better than µ's voicewise
I maybe like them more than µ's (but now one can ever replace my maki umi rin Hanayo xDDD)
Can't wait for the anime now xDDDD

oh and here is the PV
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnjlB5dG5Uc

and based on this pv (I didn't listen to the drama tracks yet) Riko seems to have transferred from µ's school since she wears the same uniform in the video
