Im just saying my whole FE-Characters-Look-Too-Similar complaint reminds me of the old days of Naruto import games. If you were new and someone was playing Kakashi,Player 2 was Iruka,Player 3 was Loser-guy-from-Episode-1,and player 4 was...George Lopez(I don't know why,but my other friends called him that. He's the guy with the pointy hair and the cigarette and brass-knuckle-like-blades), then you'd have a bad time since you'd only see headswaps with green vests and blue pants everywhere. You'd lose track of whats going on easilly, not knowing if your getting punched in the face or your doing the punching.

To be honest, the only newcomer I'm excited about is Greninja. Though that's probably because I like Pokemon more than the rest.

I've NEVER had the problem of not being able to keep track of myself with headswaps in any game I've played. I usually just look for certain details in a character to tell them apart. In Lucina's case, I'd look at the hair and the color scheme. Longer hair and a darker blue color scheme, that's Lucina. Short hair and a lighter blue color scheme, that's Marth. Same with the Robins. Different hairstyles are enough for me to tell them apart. But that's just me. Maybe I've just been playing so many fighting games that I suddenly grew the ability to tell ANY character apart, no matter HOW similar they look. :P

Telling Marth apart from Lucina and male Robin apart from female Robin is going to be difficult unless we learn to look for subtle color scheme differences or different hair lengths like MetalPredat0r said. Maybe there will also be differences in their movements, but that's unlikely.
It also seems as if most of the current characters that were released in the demo are quite equal in strength, according to this article.

I just remembered that Lucina, for a taunt, can actually put on the mask she wore in the beginning of Awakening, so there's that to help us tell her and Marth apart more easily.

Good! At least they're finally taking character balance into consideration so that we WON'T have another Meta Knight.
