SUPER SMAAAAAASH BROTHEEEEEEEEEERS!!!!!!!!!
Amazing_Grace:
Smash Bros. discussion board? Yes please!
Now that the character roster is actually getting some GOOD characters (looking at you, Wii Fit Trainer and Animal Crossing Villager), I'm excited for the recent game. It seems like it'll be a fun addition.
Looking forward to Shiek and Zelda, though I'm honestly not happy about them being split up. I'm really good as both of them and I adored being able to switch between the two depending on what kinds of moves I wanted to use. Oh, well.

I was iffy on the announcement on separating transformations due to fearing it would take up character slots, but I grew to love the concept since Zelda, Shiek, Samus, and Zero Suit Samus are changed to be accustomed to this, which is good.
However, I grew to ADORE this concept once Charizard was announced as a STAND-ALONE CHARACTER! I thought Charizard was fun to play as in Brawl, even though he was hampered, imo, by being piggy-backed with Squirtle and Ivysaur (who aren't as fun to play) as well as bringing in something that I thought was kinda dumb. They brought Pokemon mechanics into the fray. Although they probably did it for accuracy's sake, I feel that the Elemental Rock-Paper-Scissors factor of Pokemon doesn't translate well into Smash Bros. This is why I felt Ivysaur was a chore to play as, because she (yes, Ivysaur in Brawl is a female) is weak to fire and SO MANY other characters have fire attacks, which I felt crippled her.
Though here's my question, with the Pokemon Trainer himself pretty much confirmed gone, do you think Squirtle and Ivysaur have a chance of returning or are their chances as low as, say, Solid Snake? (Who is pretty much confirmed to not come back. Hideo Kojima expressed severe doubt and Pac-Man's announcement pretty much seals that deal for me. :P)

I guess I'll see how I like it. I'll definitely miss the transformation options, I think.
That, however, I can agree with. It's nice to have the Pokemon separated out so you can just play as one or the other. My sister's big on Squirtle, so she might be upset if it doesn't come back at all.
But somehow, I feel like the chances of Ivysaur (who knew she was a girl?) and Squirtle returning are kinda slim. With the addition of Greninja now, it might just have come down to replacement.

That and it would over-represent Pokemon. We have four confirmed Pokemon and EVERYBODY knows Jigglypuff is coming back since she has "first game immunity", so we have potentially five Pokemon representatives, which I feel that five is the limit this game, since Mario is represented with five characters now.

We do?
Hm...Greninja, Charizard...Lucario? Then, who's the fourth?
I hope they give Jigglypuff a better move set if she makes it in. Whenever I used her, she was always nearly completely useless. Maybe I just don't know how to use her properly.
