Being able to turn off tap-jump is an utmost blessing -- now my combo/aerial game actually means something without drops.

F**k Cruel Smash in general. Did you complete that challenge because there's more of those with getting 8 KOs in general and getting 4 KOs with Pit. =P

Got up to five kills before I up and gave up. Even as I tried certain tricks like this one, there's just so many variables to screw one over. In this case, getting footstooled off the stage or the sudden Wii Gunner FSmash. :C

Sadly, you have to choose a name in order to use those customized controls, otherwise it won't work. Its jarring when even the 3DS doesn't do that, so what gives?

Compared to the 3DS, the Wii U is more your 'shared', conventional home console, so I imagine that's why name selections are mandated. Regardless, it's not bad once you're familiar with the motions; what's an extra two-or-few seconds at the fighter screen?

I'm not saying it detracts from the game, I'm just saying its kinda bothersome if you've played the 3DS version and you didn't have to do that. I can handle the few seconds, but the fact that you have to do it every time and you tend to forget kinda bugs me.

Especially when I use the 3DS as a controller and I don't put my name in since my R button is broken and I wouldn't be able to guard the entire match. :/

About that...

Use the up special late because it is at the tip of the up special that causes the back slash. They almost always get send off stage Make sure you fast fall off the ledge (press down, not back), and double jump just high enough to where you want to do the dolphin slash. Don't double jump higher than you need to and then fall to where you dolphin slash, you will get footstooled. When you knock one off the stage, stay on the ledge until they fall far enough. You may get hit for hanging on the ledge but you are much more likely to die from getting footstooled if you let go.

Quoted by two Youtubers on that video.

You can also spam roll towards the left side and quickly throw the Mii off the stage if one of them gets close. Lucina's back throw has an invincibility frame during the throwing animation so take note of that. If multiple Miis are coming at you, jump off the stage, recover grab the ledge and attack. You're going to have to use this method to get the 4 KOs as Pit challenge. Be wary of Mii Gunner's Side-Smash though. Too bad the reward for Lucina's suck.

I'll keep that in mind, should I ever decide to try it again on a whim. Kind of hard to find an incentive knowing how sub-par the reward is.

In regards to Miis, I've taken a liking to the Brawler. It's hard not to like this personalization -- Helicopter Kick as the up special for instance has Godlike recovery in addition to easy combos. :3

Also -- after whoring myself to Master Orders with winnings earned from all Target Blasts -- I've finally unlocked The valedictory elegy CD. Now Gaur Plain has even more a reason of being my all-time favourite.

But as a personal pet peeve, the Boss Galaga item ranks way up there as overpowered as fuck and it can go to hell and back. How does one escape these inevitably bullshit deaths?

Mash Buttons. At lower percentages, this ALWAYS works. At higher percentages, pray. Same for the Beetle.

At least it's not as bad as the Gust Bellows.

As an aerial Kirby, I've not much issue with Gust Bellows personally. But I can see why it's annoying for characters who can't recover as well.

Moreover to said annoyances, I'll just leave this right here, courtesy of me.

Edit: and here's my apt reaction to that major turnabout we've had in our last get-together match on Great Cave Offensive. We seriously need some recording equipment because I dread the fact I forgot to save that as a replay. Also, VirgoLemorise must buy a Wii U just because. :3

Edit 2: christ, what I would do to possess a defective Amiibo to sell...

And so Crazy Hand became harder than Master Core. :P

Edit: Diddy for ten more years, by the sheer look of things.

Edit 2: welp, Luigi for SS tier.

Edit 3: as a pet peeve, I hate that Star KOs are uncommon now -- even outside their hindrance to competitive matches on the clock. They're really satisfying to get in previous Smashes, especially when multiple people got sent skyward. Something about it just tickles my funny bone like no other.

VERY important update for those who usually attend the Smash Get-Togethers.

Due to the past two sessions screwing up at around 10:30/10:45 EST, I have decided to move the start of them earlier an hour, so the starting time, effective tomorrow, is now 7:00pm EST. This is to ensure we get our three hours in while avoiding any online server hiccups (or at least, any ones that may cause complete disconnections).

That was pretty jarring, especially when it came about on Final Destination of all stages. Does your ISP have something to do with it? Oo
