Arcana Heart Discussion!
(1/1)
MetalPredat0r:
Here's a game series that deserves some attention: Arcana Heart!
For those not in the know, Arcana Heart is a series of 2D Fighting Games developed by Examu featuring an all-female cast of characters. The main shtick of this series is in the titular Arcanas, which grant the characters special powers based on elements such as Electricity, Wind, Fire, Earth, and even Love. Each character has a default Arcana, but you can choose any Arcana with any character you like and depending on the Arcana gives you certain attributes such as health bonuses, damage output, and even additional attacks!
The general story revolves around the struggles of two realms living opposite of each other: the Human World, which is our world, and the Elemental World, which is where the more supernatural elements come in.
The games are rather fun, though I've only played the original on PS2. The second game never left Japan and I don't have a PS3 yet so I haven't played 3. I REALLY want to, though, so I'm waiting to get a PS3 along with the new update Arcana Heart 3 LOVE MAX!!
In case any of you want to know what relevance this has to iM@S, Hiromi Hirata, Mayako Nigo, and Juri Takita voice some of the recurring characters in this series.

Think I messed around with it with friend for a while, but that's about it.
I kinda like the mix and match thing it's got going on... but there's no one really around for me to play this with, so I suck at it tremendously.

I'm 100% okay with this topic.
AH3 is my favorite fighting game of all time. I love it so much. I worked really hard for the platinum trophy.
With Love Max(exclamation points) coming up, I've pre-ordered both the PS3 and Vita NA versions. I need this game in my veins at all times.
Lilica main, Weiss sub, eternal scrub.
I'm honestly amazed at how incredibly well-balanced the game is, especially considering the extreme amount of playstyle customization available because of the Arcana selection. It's just a really well-put together game. Examu has done great work with the series.
