Maybe I'm just bragging, but I got to shake hands with THE current Chief Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force.

He and some important Air Force people are touring round the country and just so happened to stop by my high school to talk about stuff. I should've taken a picture of his rank, it was SO beautiful...

That's my Air Force Junior ROTC uniform, the only visible decorations are my rank and nametag. My ribbons are on my other side.

I definitely am joining the Air Force, going to college and getting my commission. And definitely getting a standing job, I wouldn't be able to handle sitting in a desk as a career. I'll probably do Security Forces most likely.

I'm thinking about joining as well (though some of my folks are trying to talk me into the Marines) I hear there is some kind of program where people who know each other can go to boot camp together, some kind of buddy system they have. It'd be awesome to go with another forum member let me know if your interested. (looking for a standing job as well)

I would love to do that, but I believe most of those "buddy systems" are enlisted only. And I would NOT join the Marines, but that's just me. I'm going to an easy college in Texas with an Air Force ROTC getting a degree in whatever.

They don't apply for officers? damn. Well good luck with the AFROTC, I'm still recovering from the heartache the navy left me in DAMN YOU NAVY but if it wasn't for that I'd never have found the School I'm attending now.
