I don't get how people can like Nico, or Iori for that matter. But they both seem to be quite popular. Oh well, each to their own.

I guess it has to do with a few things: appearances, personality, and comedic value.

Appearances is obvious. They're lolis. Lolis get popular pretty quickly compared to older characters.

Personality is probably because of them being deconstructions. They have the appearances of adorable little girls, but they're actually cold-hearted "snobs" but its not to the point of being annoying. If anything, it makes them more interesting to watch.

Finally there's comedic value. Admittedly, it IS pretty funny to see these characters is minor unfortunate situations such as embarrassment or recieving jabs at their character. It also helps when fandom does the same thing! ^-^

Back on topic, I actually managed to get the game working immediately on my first attempt. Maybe I just have better luck than most people, I dunno.

You won't believe how much trouble i had to install this game... My Xperia Ray only has an internal storage of 350 MB, and there was no way i could fit the game on it. And the big chunk of the data (230 mb) can't be moved to the SD card, normally... So i had to play around with partitioning my SD card to trick the phone into installing stuff on the SD card and thinking it's on the internal memory (using Link2SD). If anyone wants to try that: DON'T format the partition as FAT32, because you can't put those 230 MB on FAT32, make it as ext2 (or 4 if your phone can handle it, mine can't), and you'll need the Pro version if Link2SD (about 2$). Trying to remove this partition to format it in ext2 drove me nuts, i went to bed a bit before 2 o'clock in the morning, and it still didn't work. Of course i was an hour "late" at work (thank got it have flixible work times). Before i went to work i tried something else (i had to wait for the next train) and i finally got it to work, thank god.

I'll have to try the game when i'm at home this evening. At least, if the game isn't worth it i got an extended "internal" memory now, this has been annoying me for a long time.

Have you seen the show?

Then again, I didn't particularly love the show when it first aired, but the characters grew on me over the past year or more, and now I really like all of them (although to varying levels). Love Live! S2 is probably my AOTS out of a bit over 25 shows.

I've only seen the first season. I don't even remember the other characters outside of Maki, Nozomi and Eri and her younger sister (Alisa?).

I like most of the LL characters, but I don't much care for Hanayo, Nozomi, or (minority opinion incoming) Kotori.

Anyway, I was happy to see that they finally released the English version. I loved the JP version but I was hesitant to keep playing it because I knew I'd be jumping ship once the English one came out.

I have to admit i like the game, it's really addicting. I'm Rank 21 now and have 4 Rare Idols (1 from the, 1 from a ticket, 1 bought with 5 love gems and 1 found with normal scouting). I have idolized all 27 normal idols and i'm working on maximizing the bonds with them all. And gathering 50 love gems to scout for 11 rare idols at once. Apparentely if there is a special event you are guaranteed to get an ultra or super rare idol if you do so. The problem is, the current event has the 2 idols i don't like (Nico and Hanayo).

About the music: I like the songs i have unlocked so far, they are all good. Unlike Idolm@ster there is no song i really dislike, stuff like Kiramekirari or Ai Like Hamburger. But there is also no song that blows me away, like eDEN, Yakusoku or relations. There isn't even a song i really like, akin to Alright*, Me ga au toki, Little Match Girl and many many other im@s songs. In other words: it feels like they all sound like the same, on a solid level.

To each their own. I barely touched the game and I plan to this weekend then give my full thoughts.

Well, I've been doing a lot of actual playing of this game, and I really enjoy it so far. It reminds me of Brave Frontier a bit, actually, as far as gameplay goes.
For instance, you start out with a base/starter "unit". In order to level up this "unit", you have to fuse/combine it with other "units".
To get other "units", you do a live show, which would be the equivalent of questing in BF I guess. And you can evolve/idolize your "units" by combining them with specific other "units" (themselves, in this game's case).

In any case. It's my first exposure to Love Live!, and I like it so far.

I highly recommend the anime. Its actually pretty entertaining and it helps with the enjoyment of the game once you get to know the characters as well as the overall Love Live universe.

It's on my list, but...my list is really long and I never really watch anime anymore, and if I do it's usually stuff with my voice acting babies in it (Love Live! has none of them D:). :P

i'm looking for a new phone, my old one has some issues (like suddenly saying "no sim card found, you need to restart your phone"), and i'm thinking about the Galaxy S4 mini.
My current phone (Xperia Ray) can't run the game smoothly, in about 75% of the attempts the game begins to lag during the song. This means, the music does on and you need to press stuff, but the circles freeze on the screen and then suddenly jump on.
So i wanted to ask who else is playing the game on Android, what Phone do you use and do you have problems with the game? Because if i get a new phone i want to at least run it the game without problems.

I played the game using a Samsung Galaxy S4 (as I said in my review of the game) and it works flawlessly. The thing is, your phone has to have not been rooted in order for the game to work at all. Many people experienced problems with that, though I had no problems playing the game since my phone has never been rkkted. Hope that answers your question.

Unfortunately it doesn't. I tried the game on a friends S4 and as you said, it worked flawlessly. But the S4 mini has much lower specs than the S4 (for example the S4 is quad-core, the mini is only dual-core).

As for rooted phones: you can use tools like SuperSU to enable and disable the rooting. The game works fine if you disable it. At least it does with my current phone which i rooted to make the phone use a japanese font for japanese text, instead of a chinese font.

Dang. Not sure about S4 Minis. Maybe its worth a shot, I mean its not like you'd be spending money on it.
