This anime is currently airing in Japan and has nine episodes and a movie. I recommend you to watch the movie first, because it's a priquel.

I liked only Miyu at first, but now I have several favourite characters.

MetalPredat0r:
Haven't seen Wake Up Girls at all, but I hear about it often. I've only really completed The iDOLM@STER, Hyperdimension Neptunia The Animation, and........ BlazBlue Alter Memory..... (trying to hold back rant mode). Do you personally recommend Wake Up Girls? Is it a great show, a decent one, an okay one, one that needs a lot of work, or is it Alter Memory levels of quality?

Yes, I do. Yes, it is. ;)

The art is a lot like IM@S, but more realistic and the story is set in 2014. It makes you think that it all happens with real Japanese girls. I have never felt like that before. In addition, this anime has a slow ending song, unlike other idol-themed animes.

JNiles:
I need to catch up; I've only watched the first three episodes.

From what I've seen, it is more of a drama show with an idol background than an idol show.  There is also some controversy following the producer (Yamakan) no matter what he does, but I don't dwell on it too much.

Daverost:
My favorite is Glutton, then Meido.
