iDOLM@STER tops all. No questions asked.

But I sense a fandom storm brewing in the distance. Thankfully, I'm not on Twitter, so I can't be affected there. Bwahaha!

Wonder how this will all turn out. Let's hope for the best.

The iM@S fandom isn't known to be civil, especially in Japan.

And Aikatsu is for little girls.

*gulp*

In terms of popularity, available products, and just about every other aspect, iM@S is still top dog. After all, it's been around the longest and has the most capital to work with. Even now they're using it to expand their markets and fanbases (SideM).

In terms of my preferences, iM@S >= Love Live >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> WUG (but I still like WUG). Don't know the first thing about Aikatsu. Don't care.

As for me, IM@S=XenoMas>>AKB0048>Wake up, girls!>>Lemon angel project>>>>Love Live!, or Chihaya-sama=Chihaya-sama>>Yukirin>Miyu, Kaya, Mayu>>Saya, Yui>>>>Niko.

An actual fandom war would be an enormous waste of time.  It reminds me of those disturbing stories about boy band fanatics getting into catfights over their preferences.

Frankly, I'll take anything in the current crop of shows over the older shows.

I really wish those stories were just stories.

It would be pretty bad to have an all-out fandom war, but me knowing what I do about American otakus, at least, it's almost inevitable. At least in the states.

Idolm@ster reigns over them all. Love live might be taking a bit of video game territory since I heard they are releasing a love live game for vita but I dunno, they might just be testing waters but I don't think they can topple Im@s at all. Aikatsu is so meh imo even though they have a game, I think it's too girly for my tastes and wake up, girls! is nice I have to admit but it's like an idolm@ster plot 765=961, green leaves=I-1

I've seen all of these shows.

For me it's probably something like this:
iM@S > Aikatsu! > Love Live! >>>>>>>>>>WUG
It's not that I dislike WUG. I just love the other three so much that WUG is nowhere close to them.

Also, the Love Live! anime sold more than the iM@S anime, so it might actually be the most popular.
The fact that I can play every currently available Love Live! game for free (there's only one and it's on iOS and Android) is pretty nice too, especially in comparison to iM@S, of which I've only played the idol-groping simulator MOBILE i "game".

Three of them, actually. There's also a free-to-play rhythm game on mobile.

Eh, should there be a war, I'll not participate. Clash of opinions tends to be really long and really ugly. Plus, there'll no real establishment of the actual 'best series ever' in the end.

Well, I've only seen two of the shows in that pic, so I can't give a rating. All I could say is that we all should respect our differing opinions and appreciate the fact that there's one thing linking these different fandoms together, and that's the love for idols. I want to believe that the world is all one, after all.

(And no. While iMAS will always hold a special place in my heart, please don't take that as the side I'm taking.)

Well, it is quite meaningless to begin a fandom "war", at least it is meaningless to me. Everyone may have a different preference, and it has generally no development on anything at all. It is good to see everyone has a preference, but it does not need to have a crash or "war" between them.

To me, it will be "IM@S > LoveLive >> Aikatsu! > Wake-Up Girls". IM@S is always the top to me, even counting all other anime or games. Lovelive is also good, but it is sad to see those girls are too similar. And the story of LL anime is somehow too common as other anime.

Just some facts, a few month ago, around November, there was a informal survey about the "war" in the Japan, and the result was as follows:
LoveLive > Wake-Up Girls > IM@S ~ Aikatsu
After the success of IM@S Movie, the popularity of IM@S was boosted up again. And it was sad that there are many negative comments about WUG. The result now is as follows:
IM@S ~ Lovelive > Aikatsu >> Wake-Up Girls

WUG T-T ... Ah well, my opinion isn't that popular I guess but I still love it >_< almost as much as im@s

I think the biggest problem with WUG right now is that there's just not a lot of content related to it. iM@S has hundreds of songs, Love Live! has several dozen, and Aikatsu! has around 30 or so. They also have various games and other merchandise, while WUG only has a show and a few songs so far, from what I know.

It's also early in WUG's "lifespan". With Aikatsu!, I loved it as soon as I watched it, but with iM@S my love built up while watching the show and over several months after it ended, and I didn't love Love Live! until more than half a year after the show finished airing.

Maybe I'll grow to like WUG more. In fact, I already like it way more than I did when I watched the movie and the first couple of episodes.
