Both Eri and Shiho look good, but I like the Eri drawing slightly better. Eri's hair looks nice and so does the expression on her face. The longer part of Shiho's hair looks a little two dimensional, but I don't know how to make it look more three dimensional, myself. It's possible that I'm not as drawn to the expression on Shiho's face simply because she isn't smiling, but maybe you can make her expression more captivating without having to make her smile. Lastly, Shiho's thorax doesn't look quite big enough. She looks like she needs bigger lungs. The drawing of Eri is better in this regard. I'm really nitpicking, though. Can't go too realistic, or else it doesn't look like manga/anime anymore.

With Shiho's hair, I see what you mean. The top part is certainly more detailed than the bottom part, as in there's more lines added to the overall hair while the longer bottom part looks relatively flat by comparison.

As for Shiho's expression, I was gonna draw her scowling, but I felt that that would look too harsh on her, so I gave her a much tamer look. Maybe I should have gone with the scowl, I dunno.

I appreciate that you liked Eri, though! I also feel that she looks better than Shiho in this sketch.

I've always sucked at hands, so that's no surprise that there's a mistake with them.

I didn't notice much of a difference between Eri and Shiho in that picture, but I can notice your style evolving. So why are altuixide and I the only ones posting on the "Art: Then and Now" thread? I made that for you people, show off. I like how both of them turned out, honestly. Only thing I can really mention is that Shiho's forearms seem a little wide? As it nears the wrist, the arm should begin to narrow again. As it is it seems the arm just sort of abruptly becomes a wrist. Does that make any sense at all? Eri is fine since she does have sleeves, you can't see the shape of the arm.

Anyway, I come with some bad news. I'm gonna have to delay Miki's Birthday Sketch for another time due to two reasons.

1. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. That game has occupied a LOT of my time to the point where Miki's birthday is sadly overshadowed. Just a matter of inconvenient birth dating.

2. The next two days for me are gonna be test overload at school and I really need to study, so I have no time to make a simple sketch. Thankfully it's only a two-day school week thanks to Thanksgiving break and I should have Miki's Birthday Sketch up by Wednesday at the latest.

Special Late Yukiho's Birthday/Christmas Edition!!!

This was done as both Yukiho's Birthday Sketch as well as fulfilling a request by Heattokun to make an iM@S themed nativity scene. Well, here it is! Enjoy!



Oh, and an announcement concerning the birthday sketches in 2015. Starting this January, I am ONLY going to do Birthday Sketches for my personal favorite idols rather than the main 13 (and Kotori) of 765Pro and 876Pro. However, I am still going to make ones for Takane and Chihaya as they are both the only ones left without special birthday sketches. However, after Chihaya, it is strictly favorites. This means that I can choose from idols throughout the entire franchise, so I am able to branch out to Cinderella Girls and Million Live birthday sketches this time. I will return with Birthday Sketches on January 18th with a birthday sketch for Shiho Kitazawa. I hope you enjoy the future of the birthday sketches as I have a lot of fun making them all. Also, this is the final piece of artwork I am posting for 2014. Have a Merry Christmas, a Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year!

Here it is. The first mobile game character birthday sketch.

I was aiming for a more pop-up storybook aesthetic, since it stays true to Shiho's love for picture books. Also, don't mind the speck of dust on Kana's hair. It was in the scanner for a while.

These sketches usually take me anywhere from 10-15 minutes. As for something that has more inking or coloring to it, it might take me about an hour or two. If it's something at a larger scale, like the Ginyu Force poses on the front of this thread, that took me three days to sketch, ink, color, and blend.

EDIT: Finally went back and removed the Cinderella Girls Ginyu Force drawing from the attachments and inserted it as an image instead for better viewing. Hope you guys enjoy that old classic!

Shizuka. She's mainly there because as of the LTH events, Shiho and Shizuka settled their differences and finally became friends.
