Amazing_Grace:
Great job describing the story mode! I could really see everything taking place. I'm also quite curious about how the Absolute Worst ending works out...
Looking forward to the profiles of 573 idols!

ZetaFlare:
Based off games from a rival company! Introducing 573Pro's idols! (that's pronounced KoNaMi)

Umino Erisa (海野絵里沙, age 17) The vocal specialist of 573Pro. A sweet and calm girl originally from Hiroshima. With a beautiful singing voice and an adoration of the ocean, some people believe she could actually be a mermaid (mainly because she tends to sing towards the ocean after dark). While her professional vocal training is a bit limited, she taught the other girls how to utilize their voice to the fullest. Erisa often wears ocean-themed outfits on stage to correspond with her mermaid theme.
Preferred VA: Misato Fukuen
Image song: Shinkai Shoujou (Vocaloid)

Note: Erisa is a play on Eliza, the name of the mermaid boss from Gokujyou Parodius.

Shiraishi Rika (白石莉花, age 16) The dance specialist of 573Pro. A happy-go-lucky girl who returned to Japan one year ago after studying abroad in Las Vegas for three years. While her dance training is somewhat limited, she learned a few tricks from watching showgirls perform. She also owns a pet eagle named Zabu who acts as her messenger. Rika often prefers performing with lots of colorful flashing lights on stage. She's often the one to help Kaori calm down after stressing out.
Preferred VA: Yui Sakakibara
Image song: Miracle Paint (Vocaloid)

Rika is named and modeled after Rika Chichibinta, the reoccurring Vegas showgirl from the Parodius games. Zabu is named after Eagle Sabu, the eagle boss from Parodius Da who appears following Rika's namesake character.

Momoyama Yoshiko (桃山淑子, age 19) The visual specialist of 573Pro. This voluptuous vixen has a passion for moai. She also has a bit of a sadistic side and enjoys teasing her fans. She was often paired with Kaori in providing 573Pro's sex appeal. She also acts as a big sister to Kaori, though she will torture her from time to time just for a laugh. Yoshiko tends to wear a lot of makeup, though she can sometimes overdo it.
Preferred VA: Megumi Toyoguchi
Image song: Sweet Devil (Vocaloid)

Note: Yoshiko is named and modeled after Parodius's pink moai boss of the same name.

Hiwatari Koneko (日渡小猫, age 14) The newest and youngest 573Pro idol who replaced Kaori after her mother dragged her out of the company. She's very hyperactive and loves cats to the point where she will even act like a cat. Her love for sardines is pretty much on par with Miki's love of onigiri. Every time she sees a mouse, even on stage, she just has to chase it! She has a tendency to say "nya" at least once in every sentence. Yeah...she is that crazy.
Preferred VA: Sawa Ishige
Image song: Nekomimi Switch (Vocaloid)

Note: Those "whiskers" are really just face paint.
Note: Koneko is based off the reoccurring cat vehicles in the Parodius games. Koneko's inspiration, however, came from the Otomedius Excellent character Neko Sancho, who is essentially a parody of said cat vehicles. So, Koneko is basically a parody of a parody.

Amazing_Grace:
I like this group, especially Rika and Yoshiko. They're nice characters, even though it sounds like Yoshiko can be a bit of a jerk sometimes. Ahahaha...
Still. I've never played Parodius so I'm not familiar with the inspiration behind the characters, but they're very interesting and I like their character designs.

ZetaFlare:
Check back a couple of posts for an image update on Erisa. I was a little dissatisfied with how Erisa's hair turned out before, so I decided to grow it out in order to make her look a little more like her namesake character. Oh, and by the way, her combination skirt/bikini bottom was made from the same material as the Taiyou no Jealousy outfit from Shiny TV (though it uses more green than purple). The top is designed like a pair of scallop shells.

Thanks! I didn't give them much development, though, as they are mainly NPCs/rivals you can square off with in festivals. The Parodius games are light-hearted and insane parodies of Konami(hence their production name)'s classic shoot-em-up Gradius. In fact, some of Kaori's communication events make references to Konami games (i.e. when she goes into dance lessons, she always seems to vision arrows flying up from the ground...or a time when she has a mall performance during a card game tournament...or a time when she meets Kenji underneath a tree at her school that is said to grant wishes (a reference to Tokimeki Memorial)).

No problem! Even if you didn't give them much backstory, they're still enjoyable characters.
Haha, I don't play Konami games nearly as much as I ought to. But maybe I'll pick up Gradius or Parodius to get a bit more familiar with the characters' inspirations.
