But Mondenkind did exist before "The dawn of the pirple moon" incident!
Those crazy scientists of Mondenkind have made my favourite character suffer, suffer, suffer!
I think that Nubilium and Tempestus were found later by Turiavita and Mondenkind respectively.

Oh, huh. I never noticed that.
You can still assume that Azusa's older than Joseph, who worked with Mondenkind for thirty years, which would make Azusa around 30-40.
Well, I can assume, at least.
Also, it was mostly Chihaya's own choice. She was EXCITED to take part in the experiments. So really, it's her fault that she got so messed up.

Do you think she had a choice? Of cource, she was exited like any little child would... at first. :(

I really do. You can't forget that she had a smile on her face while the experiment was about to be performed. Azusa was frowning, or at the very least had a blank expression on her face. She was given a last choice by her father, an "are you sure you want to do this?" moment. She messed herself up too for choosing her father's happiness over her own.
But Chihaya seemed excited and happy to be a part of it. Her problem arose during the Dawn Over Purple Moon when Imber finally rejected her. THAT was when everything went nuts.
So actually, I guess you could blame on Imber for turning her down after she gave everything for him.
I think it's a matter of character interpretation. I know you're a huge Chihaya fan, as opposed to me, who was quite angry at her in Xenoglossia. So...yeah.
I'm so obssessed with this show.

Ah, I get it! You actually meant that scene from the 11th episode, but I talked about her childhood. I think that Chihaya was told she would surely become one with Imber and save the world countless times, so by her real seventeens she had believed in the success of the surgery and it was too late to make her change her mind. In addition, for Imber Chihaya did everything but two things. Firstly, what she loved was not Imber, but her own egoism, and secondly... well, guess what is it. :)
