This is the reason I took so long to watch xeno. It's really only imas in name. Chihaya always seems to get the most changes in adaptations.

To that end I've also not condemned whoever came as replacements. In fairness, though, I can't see change in 2nd Vision as well as you could. It's been ingrained that much as I feel the seiyuu's reflect their characters to far more than a voicing degree.

Yeah, I know, that wasn't really a snipe at ya. It's just I hear people say they don't like it because it's not an idol show, or that people don't like that the voice actors are different... but things just kinda stop there a lot of the time.
I can get it if they can't accept the idols as the ones they've known before, and that's alright. If the voice actor is so part of the character that they can't do without each other... well, I disagree a little but eh... I can get it. If the show is just horrible as a mecha show or if they don't really like that genre, that's cool. But when people just complain about the window dressing, man...
Sorry, I'm kinda venting a bit. Maybe I just made all this stuff up in my head.

Ho boy, where do I begin?
This show is the most divisive I have ever been with this franchise. I've given it so much consideration, thought, and I even gave it two chances, but for some reason, I just can't sit down and watch it. Like, I cannot watch this beyond nine episodes. I mean, I don't hate it. Not at all. In fact, I'm gonna say that I rank BRE@K and The Movie MUCH lower than Xeno, which I think are the most rock bottom this entire franchise is ever gonna hit.
Like, I dunno. Maybe it's the fact that everyone is just so...........different. My first exposure to the franchise was anim@s and, whether you love it or hate it, gave me a grasp of the franchise as a whole. That might explain why I was so distant from Xeno for a while due to not watching it first, or it could be for the fact that I'm not a huge mecha guy to begin with. I cannot recommend this show as anybody's first exposure to iM@S.
I will give it some positives. The music is pretty good (the ED being my favorite), the animation is top-notch for the most part, Yayoi gets the best parts, and this show actually made Haruka a bit more of a likable character for me, where official material places her among the characters I honestly don't care much for, not dislike, just.......don't care.
MAYBE I can give this show one more chance, but not anytime soon. I already have Cinderella Girls eating up all of my attention. However, I do respect anybody who is a fan of this show. You guys see something that I clearly don't and, ya know what, more power to you. I'm not going to judge you on liking this. Go ahead and enjoy, but it's just......not for me. :P

I would have liked it more if was the idols' personalities in a mecha show. That could be interesting. But from what I heard they just took another anime and gave it an imas skin. I don't mind the VAs too much. They're not the idols to me, but for just that anime it's okay. Also the OP is really catchy.

That's what I really would have liked to see. Most series have a sci-fi au within the fandom, but very few have their own canon mecha AU and it would have been... in a word... amazing. But it's just kind of... its own separate thing, and not even in the way Cinderella Girls is. I watched the first ep and liked it, even though it was a little jarring to see the characters look and behave so differently.
Talking about this makes me want a spinoff focusing on that yakuza movie or Nemurihime. plz namco i will give you all my money
