Xenoglossia discussion board, anyone?
« on: January 05, 2014, 08:33:25 pm »
I noticed that no one had put up a board for discussing Xenoglossia yet, so me, being both new and addicted to Xenoglossia a fan of Xenoglossia, I decided to try starting one.

I know lots of people were disappointed with it. I didn't watch it for the longest time after I knew it existed because it looked stupid, and the art was kinda weird, and so I just ignored it. But then, like, last year, I decided I'd give it a shot. And I fell in love.

Honestly, you guys, I stopped associating it with the original iDOLM@STER after episode 3 and just watched it like a completely unrelated anime. It helped.

That, and Eri Kitamura. I love her voice so much. <3

Alright, let's discuss Xenoglossia!
Chihaya-Master has such a beautiful and charming voice, don't you think so? 8)

She does. Kaori Shimizu is one of the best voice actresses on that show. :D
I think it's safe to assume Chihaya was your favorite character...? Honestly, I liked her until the later episodes. She just got a liiiiittle too crazy for me. XD But hey, she's still cool! So it's OK!

I've translated Chihaya-Master's introduction to Dunbine tobu!
Track itself:
http://www.xiami.com/song/1770865351

Chihaya's confession

The girls' songs are an energetic melody, a funny one, and a gloomy one is not bad too, but I have met with this song. It is so hot as if my heart had reflected in the mirror! And it's a hot opening! According to the rules, what robots need are that passion, that pathos! That's right, they are like the memories of mine! Wait for me, Imber, with them, I will fly to our universe! Listen carefully... to this song. ~Asura Cryin' 2 - Alternative Seisenshi Dunbine - Dunbine tobu~

Feel free to correct my translation and remember that it is Japanese<Russian<English.
By the way, I've found some picture with characters' ages. It looks like official one, but I'm not sure.

Ooh! Now it all makes sense. :D I like that. :3
I could understand it, and I'm lazy, so I won't fix anything.

OH MY GOSH! YES!
THAT!
I've been looking for that! That's the one, yeah. See where it says that Chihaya and Azusa are 48/51? I actually believe that those are their real ages, and they just look 17/20.
I left a comment on Wattpad explaining why. XD

But Mondenkind did exist before "The dawn of the pirple moon" incident!

Those crazy scientists of Mondenkind have made my favourite character suffer, suffer, suffer!

I think that Nubilium and Tempestus were found later by Turiavita and Mondenkind respectively.

Oh, huh. I never noticed that.

You can still assume that Azusa's older than Joseph, who worked with Mondenkind for thirty years, which would make Azusa around 30-40.

Well, I can assume, at least.

Also, it was mostly Chihaya's own choice. She was EXCITED to take part in the experiments. So really, it's her fault that she got so messed up.

Do you think she had a choice? Of cource, she was exited like any little child would... at first. :(

I really do. You can't forget that she had a smile on her face while the experiment was about to be performed. Azusa was frowning, or at the very least had a blank expression on her face. She was given a last choice by her father, an "are you sure you want to do this?" moment. She messed herself up too for choosing her father's happiness over her own.
But Chihaya seemed excited and happy to be a part of it. Her problem arose during the Dawn Over Purple Moon when Imber finally rejected her. THAT was when everything went nuts.

So actually, I guess you could blame on Imber for turning her down after she gave everything for him.

I think it's a matter of character interpretation. I know you're a huge Chihaya fan, as opposed to me, who was quite angry at her in Xenoglossia. So...yeah.

I'm so obssessed with this show.

Ah, I get it! You actually meant that scene from the 11th episode, but I talked about her childhood. I think that Chihaya was told she would surely become one with Imber and save the world countless times, so by her real seventeens  she had believed in the success of the surgery and it was too late to make her change her mind. In addition, for Imber Chihaya did everything but two things. Firstly, what she loved was not Imber, but her own egoism, and secondly... well, guess what is it. :)

Touchè. I can agree with that, that from a young age she was promised greatness. I guess I kinda feel bad for her.

Ah, yes, Chihaya's pride. And her lust. And her envy. And her wrath. And her greed. All she's missing is sloth and gluttony. She has good reasons, I think, just like Makoto--both of them proved through their raw skill that they really have bragging rights.

No, it's wrong answer. The second thing she didn't do for Imber is her singing! ;D

Even if you (a general "you", not "you" in particular) hate the characters, you gotta admit they have talent. Chihaya beats everyone to a pulp when they fight and her destructive power is immense, and Makoto beat both Haruka and Iori in the simulator and took down legions of Epimetheuses almost effortlessly, while Iori had a bit of trouble.
So they're both really good.

Please stop me before I rant for hours. If given the chance, I will post a foot-long post (or two) about the various characters.

I actually wonder if the show would have changed drastically if Chihaya had been the main character that became an idol.
...whoa.
That would have changed a lot of things.
That dream/nightmare she had about Harukakka would have become reality.

...SOMEBODY NEEDS TO WRITE THIS.

I agree with you. The fact I hate some character doesn't mean (s)he hasn't something to be good at.

Chihaya beats everyone to a pulp when they fight and her destructive power is immense, and Makoto beat both Haruka and Iori in the simulator and took down legions of Epimetheuses almost effortlessly, while Iori had a bit of trouble.

*with a mysterious voice*
I guess it's time to tell you the truth. I don't know if you have noticed it already, but there is something that I call The unwritten law of all the Masters. It means that the better Master you are, the better you sing! But to sing beautifully, just being a Master is not enough, you also need to have A Beautiful Last Name! 8)

That dream/nightmare she had about Harukakka would have become reality.

Why do you think so?
Actually, that nightmare is a proof of Chihaya's unconfidence.

...SOMEBODY NEEDS TO WRITE THIS.

It's me! :) I write a fanfiction about the girl named Kaori Motomiya who was sent by me (The Author) into the universe of Xenoglossia... of 1976! She has to make an idol out of Chihaya to come back. :) It's called The perfect ending. 8)
But I have a problem. I can't make up the name of the private school for girls that all the characters attend. Could you help me, please?

*with an equally mysterious voice*
I see...so that is the big secret. I knew there had to be some reason why Eri Kitamura's voice was so lovely. And now it all makes sense! It's a law!
Then Kikuchi classifies as a Beautiful Last Name? Because, I adore Eri Kitamura's voice.

No, I won't. :) I like to discuss Xenoglossia with you!
Good! Because I can go on like this forever with you! XDD

It's my dream!!! ::)  I need... no, I must write a fanfiction about this!
I will help you in any way I can. >:I

Why do you think so?
Well, if Chihaya were the good guy in this situation, that would mean Haruka, who showed up and snatched Imber away from her, would be the Yandere Clingy Jealous Girl Bad Guy. XD Wouldn't she...?

Ooh! Yay! I'm totally gonna read this...I'm thinking of a certain fanfiction myself, but I need assistance. I sent you a message telling you all about it. Ahaha~.
Hmm...how about, Hoshi Academy? Or Uuchuu High? Something that has to do with space and the universe. Ryuusei for planet?

I'm not great at making up names that have meanings~. ^^" When it's up to me, I usually just pick something that sounds good, like..."Kokuhaku High". What does "Kokuhaku" mean? I have absolutely no idea. But it sounds cute.
See what I mean? ^^"
