(at the museum)
(Mari) I think I sorta got late…

(mp) Don’t worry. I just came myself.
(actually, I came here 30 minutes in advance…)
(Mari) I was preparing o-bentou, that’s why I’m late.
(mp) Huh?
O-bentou.
I’d love to have some…
(mp) We’ll sit at the bench and eat, OK?
(Mari) Yeah. I’ll have snack, don’t worry about me.
(Mari) Just forgot. There should be a café at the museum.
(mp) Er…Don’t you have a spare helping?
(Mari) No, I don’t.
(mp) I-I see…
Well, anyways, sorry that I asked so suddenly.
(Mari) Your eyes are in tears.

(mp) *sobbing* No, idz nod like thad ad all…
Something got into my eye…
(mp)(only one helping…How sad…)
(Mari) I’ll share my lunch with you if you don’t mind.
(Mari) But it’s only a sandwich with some vegetables.
(TL NOTE.
basically she brought this –
http://recipe.gourmet.yahoo.co.jp/T005262/Bread – 2 slices
Some butter
Lettuce
Cucumber half
Tomatoes
Potatoes
Cheese
Sweet pepper
Kombu
Chicken breast – 40g.
Some salt
Eggs
Cookies – 3 pcs.
Cooking oil
Cabbage
Lettuce
Pepper
Peppermint (a little)
Parsley
Radish
This makes it around half a kilo. But there’s only 40g of meat. Not much)
(mp) I can’t. This is your lunch, after all.
(Mari) I’ll be fine with a half of it.
Mp, don’t be shy, eat.
(mp) Thank you.
I’ll take a small portion.
(mp) OK, the dinner is on me then.
(mp)(too bad I was stupid enough to come without o-bentou myself…)
(mp)(but on the other hand it was very nice to share lunch with Mari-chan…)
-
(Mari) OK, let’s get going.
(mp) But Mari-chan…
(mp) Are you sure you’ll be fine with this exhibition? Today it’s “Tokyo Buddha images.”
(Mari) Yes, it’s just what I need.
(Mari) You like simplicity, don’t you?
(mp) Keep it simple, stupid, as they say.
But what worries me, will I be able to understand the meaning of Buddha?
(Mari) I’m no better myself.
I don’t know a thing about paintings or statues.
(mp) Is that so?
(mp) I thought you’re a pro.
(Mari) No, I just had free time today so I thought I’d give it a look.
(mp) OK, it’s fine then.
Let’s enjoy the exhibition.
(Mari) Agreed.
(Mari) Actually I didn’t know what I should do at first. What if you were a specialist in painting and sculpture?
(Mari) I hate it when people try to explain to me the things I didn’t see myself.
(mp) OK then, let’s look at them together.
-
(Mari) Good paintings.
It was interesting.
(mp) Glad you liked it.
OK, see you next time.
(Mari) Sure.
Good bye.

Saturday, Apr 7.Sakura is in the bloom.
Mari thanks us for the date. She enjoyed the museum.
But she says that Buddha is a place for soul so it’s better to keep it in temples, not museums.
Meahwhile we have a bonus picture.

-
Finally, we go to Dream Club.
(mp) Mari-chan, you eat only rice?
(mp) I think you lack life forces.
(Mari) I don’t eat rice.
I only eat to stay alive.
(mp) That won’t do! You need to eat properly.
(mp) I can treat you with yaki-niku (roasted beef).
(Mari) I don’t eat meat. I’m herbivorous.
(mp) Ah, I see…
(mp) But maybe we could go to a vegetarian restaurant instead?
(Mari) I can go to a tonkatsu snackbar.
(tonkatsu= pork cutlet)
(mp) Huh?
But cutlets are made of meat, after all.
(Mari) You can eat cabbage as much as you like there.
(mp) Ah, I see…
Do you like cabbage?
(Mari) I parasitize like an insect.
(mp) An insect…
(mp) Anyways you mean you like cabbage, don’t you?
(mp) I’ll try to find a good place where you can eat cabbage…
(mp)(if only one could find it that easily…)
-
ETS.
(Mari) Sakura’s in bloom.
(mp) And it’s warm outside.
I can feel the spring coming.
(mp) By the way, Mari-chan, do you go to hanami?
(Mari) Yeah…sometimes.
(mp) W-will you go to hanami with me?
(Mari) No.
(mp) I-I see.
Perhaps I’m dull.
(Mari) I can go see sakura myself. But you can stay near me.
(mp) Eh? What do you mean?
(Mari) I’ll see sakura petals falling and I’ll catch a quick glimpse of spring.
(Mari) And you will return my soul that melts away in spring back into my body.
(mp) You mean I can go to hanami with you?
(Mari) I said that in the beginning.
(mp) Geez, it’s way too hard to get what you mean.
(Mari) You’ll help me with hanami.
(mp) Don’t worry. Anything for you.
(mp)(like it or not but we go on a date)
