The weird break in animation in Kimi wa Melody breaks my heart.
I didn't notice any weird stuff in the animation itself, but...

Honestly I think it just made a bad transition from solo to multiple singers... There are parts of the song where you have members just standing there.

OFA has kind of been bad with dances looking fine solo but being really awkward in groups... Actually, more the reverse. I think Destiny is the worst offender, where the idol singing it solo has her back to the stage for a good half of the song.

EDIT: upon another watch Destiny isn't as bad as I remember, actually.

If they really steal your memory appeals, then maybe the way to go is to make sure to win the first event by using all your memory appeals, then not switching the girls for the second song so jupiter uses more of their appeals without being able to steal some of yours, and then go for the third song again.
Unless it's all an after-burst-skill, then you "simply" have to counter every single burst.

I'll give it another shot when I get back home, but it's annoying to deal with Jupiter if only because both of their skills (the memory steal and the appeal rate reduction) happen AS they burst, not after... though you do lose a ton of voltage when they finish a burst as well. Not only does that discourage countering (you're losing memories and burst score in the process), but it also makes it even more annoying to try following up after the burst. Even on follow-up songs where I supposedly weaken them, I still end up with a 61000 score compared to their 70000.

Granted, I have a tendency to go at things unprepared. My highest level is Yukiho at 38, and my team (Miki and Azusa, around 35 each) has 13 memories total. Azusa is actually a very good lifeline for me because I think the Jupiter skill takes 3 memories each time, so you can replenish lost memories with some luck. They're all S3, too, so I should probably focus on filling the rest of their skill boards.

I just beat the S2 rank up without much trouble.

First of all: New Skills are unlocked upon reaching S2 rank.

As i said earlier, all idols are level 40. The description when selecting the job says following: When they start the burst (i only saw yukibro's post afterwards), it lowers your rate, lowers your voltage (to about half when it was full before their burst) and destroys your memory appeals. So i don't think they get stolen. Also the burst skill acting on activating the burst is new and it makes it impossible to counter their skill effect.

On the first song i simply overpowered them cruelly with my best team (Yukiho, Miki, Azusa using Kosmos Cosmos) even though 2 were wearing the wrong outfit, i beat them with 114k to 70k.

On the second song i went in with 7 vs 7 memory appeals and they more or less forced me to loose the song, they went all out and i didn't stand a chance.

For the third song they only had 1 memory appeal left, so i could beat them easily since i had 7.

On that last song i made an observation: my voltage bar was almost full (as well as theirs) from the second song, so i bursted very early. I was countered by them, but i still had 7 memory appeals left, my rates were about 90% as they always are when you are countered, my voltage bar was empty anyway. So it seems enemy burst skills don't activate during a counter. On the S3 rank up festival, the voltage destroying effect doesn't activate either when you are countered.
Knowing this also probably is the trick to beating Jupiter: Burst before them, it is worth it up to a cost of 3 memory appeals, maybe even 4. But burst in such a manner that they will be able to counter you, not that they burst after your own burst is done and you still loose the memories (unless you go all out and can burst another time before they get to burst). This also means you should also use burst skills that work during the burst, Chihaya, Miki and Hibiki probably are a good choice.

Edit: But i think we should move this discussion to the gameplay thread.

Hm, that's odd. The only reason why I said they stole memories was because I knew they used up a couple despite still having the same or similar amount of memories to start with... or maybe I just looked wrong? Not that it matters anyway, losing memories is the larger concern. In any case, that's a good observation with the counters and burst skills, though I'll leave it at that if it's going too far into game mechanics discussion. I should just emphasize leveling up my idols before tackling this again.

Yukiho's episodes are uploaded now, at least. I apologize if anyone's been looking forward to the other videos, it's just that all those contact videos wiped me out from actually playing through the game like normal.

Can these personal outfits be used in other songs?

No, i don't think so. At least the ultimate appeal that comes with them (and thus the transformation) can't. And when i tried to set Yukiho's outfit for an all star live i couldn't find the extend (i might have overlooked it then, since i just unlocked it the week before, but i say it wasn't there).

For more infos on the outfits and the ultimate appeal see the gameplay thread.

My laptop died so this probably won't be as long as last time but I wanted to post about Chihaya's story anyways. Then again I tend to get carried away writing these.

EX episode 2

Part 1 pre stage
Producer reminds Chihaya that she was going to tell him what happened after the accident before getting cut off by Leon. She says she had wanted to mention it at a time that wouldn't have a bad effect on her idol activities. She says she can sing Saihyou but not filled with emotion like before. She says she'll tell you if she beats this event.

Part 1 post stage
Chihaya and Producer go to an area with no one else around. Chihaya says that during the accident Yuu looked at her and then dashed into the road. Her parents didn't blame her but instead argued with each other saying things like "why did you let go of his hand?!". For several months the arguing continued and escalated until a book was thrown. This is when Chihaya realized things won't be the same. After this it got quiet as they decided to avoid each other and not talk to each other while living in the same house and when they did they argued again. One day Chihaya asked "If you hate it so much then why don't you leave him?" To which her mother replied trembling "Whose fault do you think it is?!". They wouldn't divorce because it's the worst thing a parent could do they thought. So from elementary school to high school Chihaya wouldn't smile while happy or cry while sad because she had no one to share her feelings with. She felt responsible for her own hell that wouldn't end because she was there. So she tried getting into music to get away from this. She says she's afraid of putting her feelings into Saihyou and afraid of family. Chihaya won't tell anyone else this as she's an idol.

Part 2 pre stage
Chihaya decides that if she wins this event she wants you to come to her room to try and create a family atmosphere. Eventually you agree.

Part 2 post stage
You visit her room (it is the same one from 2 by the way). Smiling awkwardly she asks if she can pour you some tea and offers you a newspaper. I guess that's her concept of family time. She asks if you feel nervous being in her room and the end result is her saying to forget she asked that. Producer says instead of trying to force this they should just talk normally so they begin to discuss set lists. Chihaya replies this is the first time she's talked so much in her room with someone besides Haruka. Although she says it felt more like they were in the office than her room as they were discussing work. She asks how she was acting and apologizes for acting odd and thanks you for putting up with her selfishness.

Part 3 pre stage
Chihaya wonders if being like in a family is impossible for her. Producer replies that it was just something bad that happened and she might have been fine with someone else. Chihaya considers giving up. Producer asks her if she'd feel happy giving up on this and continue living like that and she replies no. Producer says to give it another try and she says to come to her room again if she wins this event.

Part 3 post stage
Chihaya thanks you for giving her a final chance. Producer says he wants to know more about her parents. He asks if they were scary people and that's why Chihaya's afraid of remembering it. She says she's afraid because they weren't scary. Before they were nice and she only has happy memories but one event changed them so much and caused them so much pain. Chihaya says sometimes she wonders if she had vanished like Yuu if they would have separated and lived in peace. She's afraid it'll happen again with 765 and Producer. Producer says that's not true and Chihaya responds that it happened with her parents and she can't help but wonder what ifs. Chihaya says it went on for nine years and that she doesn't know if her original self even exists anymore. Producer says why not start back at nine years old then. Chihaya smiles and asks if he's serious and that even if it happened she might not be an idol anymore. Even if he asks she's not sure she can do such a thing. Producer says she can. Chihaya gets mad asking how he can know. He says because he's seen what she can do since they met and their time spent together and comments that it'll continue. Chihaya begins to cry. He asks if she believes him and she says yes. She feels that she was finally able to come to terms with her past. She thanks Producer for pushing so hard and that she didn't think she had a person with this much impact on her. Producer thinks such a person is needed. He asks if she can sing Saihyou now. She says yes and that she feels like she has to. She wishes she met Producer sooner and says she's finally had a family like atmosphere and is glad she didn't give up.

Part 4 pre stage
Chihaya says this'll be the biggest mountain she has to overcome. She'll try singing Saihyou at full power again and says if she can win her problems will turn into her strength. Producer asks if she'll be able to endure it. Chihaya isn't sure but says she'll be counting on you if something happens again. She says because you're here she feels that she can challenge this and to fight together with her.

Part 4 post stage
Chihaya looks sad at first. She says she thought again on stage and how horrible she looked before. She says she sang with only her sadness, no one else's. She won against her weak self and asks to be praised for not running away. You say she did a good job and pet her head. She says she always wanted that. You say she should make up with her parents as she has the strength to now. She says she had considered writing letters to her mother at times and if you insist she'll try staying in contact more often. She says she has to make up to Leon too for showing her bad side and worrying her. She says she'll battle her again and show she's fine as an idol.

I think you have to start with the default since it only changes with the burst. With that said, you can hit R1 (or another shoulder button, can't recall) during a performance to switch. So no full length Ultimate extend performance, unfortunately.

And when i tried to set Yukiho's outfit for an all star live i couldn't find the extend (i might have overlooked it then, since i just unlocked it the week before, but i say it wasn't there).

It supposedly appears in the top row on the left under the Extends tab, but I think it only appears for the idol that can wear it.

Yeah, i found it when preparing for the 4th Yukiho event (which i did the week following the all star live), but i didn't see it when setting Yukiho's costume for the all star live, i might just not have seen it, but i think it wasn't there at all. I didn't try to set it for non solo performance afterwards when i knew where to find it, so i'm not sure whether it's possible or not.

The new extends can only be used during solo work just like the new songs. Kind of sucks as I'd use them all the time if they let you as they look far nicer than the usual max stat extends.

Only in solo jobs or only with the solo song? I guess it's the latter.

They aren't max stats btw, at least not all of them. Yukiho's is 2 yellow and 1 red star. But to be honest i mostly don't care about the stats of the outfit anyway, only for the very hard stuff (S1 jobs, S2 all star, S rank up festivals), and even there it's probably not necessary.

I didn't try it with other songs but when it was on non solo work was greyed out.

I meant that more as a general statement although Chihaya's extend was three vocal stars so I had assumed the others were similar.

I've tried it with other songs, it'll show up for other songs but the Ultimate burst only works for the solo song that are exclusive to the idol.
