I'm liking that pirate extend. They even snuck in mata ne which I'm glad is finally getting a non shiny TV vision 2 release. I admit I hadn't thought of idol exclusive extends, but I'm loving them. I'll go update the DLC page now. I'll add the translated EX ep 2 summaries to the DLC story section of OFA's page later as well.

The Stellar Guard BDU extend was designed by Mari Shimazaki who also worked on Bayonetta 1 and 2's character designs. They commented that imas didn't have many military costumes so they tried designing one. It was made for Miki in particular with the star designs matching her last name.

Also in the preview image Chihaya's fes mentions going against a group called Nightingale so as expected the rematches with Leon will probably be saved for the last EX episodes.

I squeed upon seeing Matane and Kimi wa Melody!
With SP DLC songs making a comeback, I wonder if the Pop Sound Blossom, the blue cocktail dress, or Schoolish Girl will get comebacks too...love those Extends.
I like the pirate outfit too.

New personal costumes, huh? That's new, but I won't judge them until they're fully released. The only thing I can say that their names... are interesting to say the least.

Oh wow, a set of handcuffs. I approve of this already! :3

The new extends sure are creative, along with the exclusives, though it pains me that they're even exclusive at all; it harkens back to how you're pretty much unable to customize guest idols apart from stage choice.
Suddenly, bow-wow-wow~. :3

Here's the official translated summaries for EX episode 2. Since this is a continuation from the last part I'll put them in spoilers.

Haruka
After receiving a fan letter, Haruka begins doing country wide events. While being in contact with various fans' directly, Haruka realizes new ways to deliver her personal song "Suteki Happiness".

Chihaya
Chihaya became unable to sing "Saihyou" seriously. The reason for this was Chihaya feeling her time spent with her family in the past. Chihaya calls Producer to her home and they work hard at breaking her heart's barrier, but the result wasn't heading in the expected direction...

Yukiho
After the festival Yukiho becomes shocked after receiving a fan letter. She slowly begins to lose the confidence she had gained after dominating IE. With Yukiho torturing herself and her emotions being blocked again, will she be able to face her song "Ano Hi no Namida" and regain her self confidence as a top idol...?

Yayoi
Her new song is completed, but Yayoi doesn't know the feelings in the lyrics and begins studying them. Yayoi has Yukiho and Makoto teach her about love, but the lessons aren't going well and Yayoi is worried. Yayoi decides that to succeed that she should go on a date with Producer?!

Ritsuko
Ritsuko can't take a step forward with her new song "Watashi datte Onnanoko". Ritsuko realized there was a gap between the lyrics and herself. She thinks that she should handle love more assertively, and challenges something she normally wouldn't, but...

Azusa
Just like her song "Koi Kokoro" that was made with her honest feelings in mind, Azusa is living her life overflowing with sweet love. Azusa's popularity is continuing to rise, and Producer proposes that Azusa aims higher and continues her activities worldwide, but...?

Iori
Iori has became perfect at singing her new song "Zenryoku Idol". Iori participates in an audition for a role in a drama that is similar to her song's lyrics, and is bewildered at differences between herself and the role's personality. Iori realizes that reason is because she is already a popular idol and her pride is hurt, but...

Makoto
Through the fes with Leon Makoto was worried about what was lacking about her song, but from Leon herself she is giving the shocking advice of "have love". Returning to a flustered Producer, Makoto was burning with combativeness...

Ami
To make her song "Triple Angel" higher after being completed, Ami decides to practice the song's theme of "Be sexy in the future, be fun now!" and she begins playing. The result was Ami's grades at school decreasing. Her mother is concerned and finally bans her from "playing"...?!

Miki
Miki doesn't understand the hidden themes in her new song "Nostalgia" and can't make it her own. Producer knew that this song was made just for Miki and decides to analyse the lyrics together with her. While doing this they look back from when they first met to now...

Hibiki
Singing her new song "Pon De Beach" should have fired up the live, but Hibiki felt that afterwards lonely reverberation became a problem. She masters the song, the listeners continue to have fun, and Hibiki and Producer involve the fans as they try challenging various things.

Takane
After completing her new song, Takane aims even higher and begins studying zealously. The real reason for this was Takane was bothered by Leon pointing out her weak point. At this time, Takane is contacted by an old man she's known since she was very young who worked at the Shijou home and is now sick and bedridden...

Mami
Mami is continuing her activities as a top idol, but remembers that she's unsatisfied that she's lacking a personal aura. She begins imitating a legendary person and tries changing her singing style, but as usual Mami begins straying from this. Amazed at Leon, she becomes cornered...

This is what I wanted to say!  :o  One of the advantages of im@s is that you can choose from multiple versions of the same song, but now Namco "personalizes" everything! :(  And why can Ai, Eri and Ryo only perform "Hello!!"?! Where are their songs from im@s2 PS3?! :(

By the way, can anyone make summaries of Mami's and Ami's EX episodes?

SP did the same thing. At first you could only use the new songs with that idol but then they later released the other versions as DLC.
Quote
Me ga Au Toki was originally featured on the CD album THE IDOLM@STER MASTER ARTIST 05 Kisaragi Chihaya, and was included in THE iDOLM@STER SP for Chihaya Kisaragi only. Versions with the other idols have since been made available as DLC.

I'm not sure about the extends, but they'll most likely release other versions of the new songs later. We haven't even had m@ster versions of them yet either. As for why they're personalized it's to make them more special. Kind of like how DS's story songs are exclusive to that idol. This is pretty much their attempt at trying to recreate DS's model on a smaller scale with 765. Without it being from the idol's point of view or extra side characters of course.

I just noticed the special burst is like a magical girl transformation adding on to the costumes.

one problem i see with the exclusive costumes is the "set this costume for all idols" feature... I guess they will have specialized stats (Yukio having 3 star visual, Chihaya 3 star vocal and so on).

About the new songs being idol exclusive: They added a personal story for each idol which ends in a corresponding song, specially made by/for that idol, so it makes sense that they are idol exclusive (at least for now). I can imagine that the second part of the story partially revolves around making a fitting dress to go with the song and idol. But i wonder what they'll do for the last EX pack, special accessories?

That was a possibility but considering the burst gives them accessories already that's unlikely. They could give them a stage, but that'd be somewhat anti climatic. As the group packs give a song an extend and a stage.

But now a level of "personalization" is higher! You cannot even choose clothes for the guest idols!

Kind of like how DS's story songs are exclusive to that idol.

But they aren't exclusive! You can use the songs in S4U after completing the tied route.

Guest idols are just meant as fan service. They know people will buy them just because they bothered to give them a model. Could be a way for further judging popularity as well. It makes sense they're releasing million live idols at the same period the movie starring them is released on BD and in theaters again. I wouldn't be surprised if they start focusing more on cinderella girls idols once the anime starts airing. What I'm trying to say is I don't think namco is concerned about the guest idols as much as the fans are. Most reactions I've seen outside of here are just happy they are in the game at all.

My bad, looking it up they aren't. However these routes are not completed yet. It's possible they'll unlock after the last EX ep or at a later date.

My dream of Shiho, Rio, Konomi and Miya performing their respective songs in The best schoolmate will never come true... :(
And why didn't Namco make a shared Extend section for the DS idols?! They DID in im@s2! :(

They don't really seem to be encouraging crossover at all. Besides Thank you and the 2014 live song none of the mobage idols have sang 765 songs or via versa. In the past DS sang at least a few 765 songs and has sang together with 765.

And why didn't Namco make a shared Extend section for the DS idols?! They DID in im@s2! :(
I'm not certain on this, but it's not uncommon for staff to change between games which means some features aren't shared between them. Another series that often does this is pokemon where certain gimmicks are only in certain games but then don't appear in the next.
