But i really like Chihaya's, though is was hoping for Yakusoku when they said "solo song for the idols". Are all these songs new or has any of them been released before?
They stated these songs would be new from the beginning. All of them will be new, although going by them having 12 eps that means the twins will probably share a song again.

Though I have a feeling they want to replace "Aoi tori" with this new song. No-o-o!!! I still want to hear Chihaya and Yukiho singing "Aoi tori" in OFA!!!
It's not really the same as Aoi tori however. The lyrics for this song thus far as closer to me ga au toki while the backing is probably closer to nemurihime or koi kaze. They are releasing songs like positive so they might add the other songs like they did in shiny TV. I'm wondering if they're going to continue giving the idols custom designed extends per catalog like now or if they'll give them one for their solo scenarios like with the group live giving ramune iro seishun and the new extend. Also if these solo songs are going to be locked or not, as in if the other idols can sing them like usual or not at all like Leon's for example.

This is torture. I want to hear the rest of Chihaya's song so bad now after hearing the beginning of the chorus.
UGGGGGHHHHHHHH
Also, I can't tell if the comments towards the preview for Chihaya are good or bad.
I agree as the chorus is usually where the songs really shine. I think they're mostly commenting how the title doesn't seem related to the lyrics so far. With Chihaya's past songs the title is usually mentioned in the song somewhere. The reaction seems mostly positive with people wanting to hear more. Some are speculating these songs are going to be in master artist 3. One commented they want to hear Yayoi sing it. Since to play these you must have beat IE I wonder if it'll be a continuation of their story and if the song ties into it at all. Nemurihime seemed to do so well looking at the lyrics after playing 2 but Saihou seems more like just an image song.

Haruka's is cute but kinda forgettable.

Is Saihyou a Go Shiina song because it sounds like one. I love the Go Shiina and Chihaya combo so much ;u;
I thought her's reminded me of some of the perfect idol songs.
I don't think they have stated who has done which song yet but it's pretty obvious.

Am I the only one who likes Suteki Happiness the best? The other three songs are kind of generically depressing.

And Ramune Iro Seishun isn't locked out, it's a quintet song, as stated on the site, which means any 765 idol can sing it. I assume these 4 new songs will not be locked out either seeing it would be very awkward to place the 765 idols in the guest category since they already have a submenu dedicated to 765 in s4u.

Heard all the previews, here are my thoughts...

Futatsu no Tsuki: So this is what a Takane song sounds like. Gotta say, I am highly impressed with her vocals. Can't wait for the full song.

Nostalgia: I hate to say this. I mean, I REALLY hate to say this, but...... I think Miki's is the worst of the bunch. Not because its bad, but because I think the vocals particularly hurt this song, imo. Miki sounds too high-pitched here. If she sang this song like she did, say, "Marionette no Kokoro", "edeN", or "Tsuioku no Sand Glass", then I would instantly have fallen in love with this song. But where it stands right now.......eh. :/

Suteki Happiness: Typical Haruka. Cute, bubbly, and actually pretty catchy. I like!

Saihyou: Ms. Imai, stop. Stop having such a perfect voice!

While I agree Suteki Happiness is the happiest of the four, that doesn't automatically make the other three songs "generically depressing".
None of the backings sound particularly "depressing" so I assume you mean by lyrics. Futatsu no Tsuki doesn't really remind me of a particular imas song but depressing doesn't come to mind, Nostalgia reminds me of Next life a bit but with more guitar, and Saihou is that grand sound some of Chihaya's songs are known for.

Futatsu no Tsuki's lyrics doesn't seem particularly depressing but it's too early to tell with it cutting off before the chorus. It seems to be describing dancing and other things at a beach at night.

Nostalgia isn't depressing at all despite the title. It's talking about how you can't go back to the past so you have to give it your all in the present.

While Saihou's lyrics at first are similar to me ga au toki with the whole sad love song vibe, the beginning of the chorus seems to have a similar moving on theme like nemurihime which is more uplifting. It's not particularly generic either.

I didn't say Ramune Iro Seishun was locked, I meant it is included with the scenario only. There's probably a way to lock the song to one idol without giving them another screen. Like how some songs can only do trio.

Also I don't see a problem with Miki's singing. She doesn't have to sing it the same way for it to be good.

Nostalgia reminds me of Nation Blue a lot, tbh. And the lyrics are sort of like a "alternate look" at Tsuioku no Sandglass?

Completely unrelated to any of that recent conversation above, but I had noticed this earlier today while playing around in S4U -

(Yes, I'm aware the image is grainy and their faces are probably in the creepiest possible expression, but was testing recording settings, and its video won't YouTube well)
Definitely worth noting how the lights change in case anyone likes using multiple different Starry Costumes at once. (It's most obvious on Yukiho and Miki, what I'm talking about)

i have to agree with Maka, especially about Miki's song. I really like the song, but i doubt i'll get it because i really don't like Miki's voice in it. It's strange how different Miki sounds in different songs, i really like her voice in relations or eDEN for example, but i can't stand it in Kosmos Cosmos or this new one.

I also find Miki's voice very very different depending on the song. I hear the difference most between the more "cute" and "cool" songs. Even her image songs are all over the place from Furufuru Future to Overmaster and Marionette no Kokoro.

Chihaya's new song sounds lovely though and the dance seems somewhat entertaining compared to most slow songs that just have the idols slowly walk around the stage and reach towards the screen. Judging from Scamco the new image songs are going to be locked and the price of a normal song.

This is great and all, but...Will we get a sequel to Kotori's date?! is the burning question.

All I have to say is this - im@s will take up a significant amount of my budget for the 2014-2015 financial year.

I think I'll have to play things by ear and see what DLC I really can't live without.
They don't disappear after the month is over so I think I can always wait it out. On second thought, let's not give them any ideas. ^_^;

That's how I'm feeling about it myself. I'm gonna be honest - yeah, quintet work, solo songs and whatnot are epic, but it's not quite epic enough. Solo-only songs are probably going to go the way of rival idols in my mind - just hoping they won't pull the "buy the entire catalog for a free item" stunt again.

lol. Well, *I* think they're epic - especially Takane's, because hers has a different sound from the other image songs of hers I've heard.
As for Miki's given solo song... well, it's a cuter sound yes, but it's not cute to the levels of unfitting for the song so I'm alright with it. Still has much of her cooler, more emotive tone.
Not much to say for Haruka's/Chihaya's, most of my opinions on them have already been said.

Would I want to get them? Probably, if money grew on trees. In the meanwhile my wallet's crying (more than it's already been); I'm mostly speaking for my wallet.
Hoping they'll start with the sales sooner than later, especially with this amount of future planned content and Punkish Gothic.

9-10AM according to what time zone? I live in an Eastern Standard Time Zone region. If you run by Pacific Time, that'd be noon for me.

Shouldn't you be using EDT this time of year, though? ;)
