im@s 2 was similarly locked. I believe only 7 of the songs were available, about 8 costumes and maybe 10 accessories total.

Maybe 10 of the stages were available on start as well.

Everything else was in game money earned. You'd perform, produce, and use the proceeds to buy more costumes.

It would probably be at least 2-3 weeks of hard playing to unlock everything, I'm guessing.

It's still noticeably less than what iM@S 2 started off with -- by roughly half the margin no less.

Eh, it does give one an excuse to actually play the the game so there's that at least... can't have my songs going without Extend, after all. :P

Thus far, I've been using this as reference.

I get the feeling that that's the point, if I'm to believe the no-end to a playthrough, considering in 2 you'd only ever be able to use a few songs at once.

Meanwhile, guess who just got her copy...

The box is dualsided, too. Yes, that's my thumb, and I apologize for bleh quality >>; (Also, I'm not sure what the Haruka image - it doesn't appear to be a folder or the like, haven't examined further - is, but the back appears to have adverts for other Playstation games, so)
I got what I'm to believe is the costume code in a small box that contained the cleaning cloth, and all the posters, rolled up, in a small box inside. The ML/CG codes were inside the game packaging, which makes enough sense.
I haven't yet checked out the calendar nor the drama CD yet and at this point, I'm a little more interested in firing up the game - so let's see what it's like to start!

ZetaFlare:
From the above posts, it sounds like everyone's image song is locked to start with (TBH, it kind of feels a lot like some of the fighting games I play, particularly the anime-themed ones, where only a handful of characters are available to start and you have to unlock the rest via Story Mode, etc). I wonder if you have to accomplish something with an idol in order to unlock her respective image song, kind of like in Dearly Stars (remember how ALIVE, Precog, and Dazzling World had to be unlocked in their respective story routes?).

Still kind of disappointed that my Miki wound up with FuruFuru Future (least favorite Miki song IMO) instead of Marionette no Kokoro (best Miki song, period) or something more iconic like relations.

Still hoping Haruka gets I Want.

All I know for certain is Iori got Futari no Kioku and Azusa with Tonari ni..., so I'm content. Seems like I'll have to produce them for that, but I'll get around to this~.

Miki does seem ill-suited for FuruFuru Future, but I personally love it with Ritsuko -- it's adorable in a playful, probably sort of annoying way. :3

In regards to your copy, Virgofall, the dual-sided box is very cool. Wonder when and where the Drama CD takes place... perhaps it's to bridge iM@S 2 and OfA? As rudimentary as it sounds, I'd also kill for that calender; I'd rather have our beloved idols tell me what month and season it is. :3
