Ranko confirmed for Smash Br-

er

OFA

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BlUBfOlCEAA-5xG.jpg:large

Ranko Kanzaki Calls Forth the Darkness!

I am not surprised that Ranko was announced first. Great to see her, though, but the fact that she has a legitimate 3D Model ala iM@S 2 is kinda......surreal to me. I dunno, I guess its because I'm used to seeing her as a 2D image. I can easily get used to it. Its not bad, just........different.

So how are Airi's chances looking?

Anyone have the Serika pic? It never got copied over from 4chan and those links die out near immediately.

EDIT: Nevermind, found it on archive and re-upped.

I think I'm going to be pretty meh when it comes to most CG/ML content coming into OFA unless I can figure out if, like iM@S2, 765 can also wear the outfits. Or if Kaede, but not holding breath.

What I personally wonder most is what the changes to the visual lesson were, since I couldn't tell too easily from the preview videos. Well, that and if the scoring system changed (which I hope it does, quite a few of the songs I'd have preferred using were "slow" ones) but I doubt we can figure out much about the latter until the game's actually released. I would also wonder about transfer of DLC, but, with the fact that songs which're standard for OFA were DLC in iM@S2, I doubt it. (It would defeat part of the point of DLC, at least from the make-as-much-money-as-possible frame of mind.)

What I personally wonder most is what the changes to the visual lesson were, since I couldn't tell too easily from the preview videos.

In the second video there is a text that says something like: Quickly press the indicated buttons.

And at least in the video there was always one of each of these 2 groups:
1) L1, R1 or L1 + R1 to look at the left, right or central camera
2) One of the 4 normal buttons for an expression (intense, sad and so on).

So i guess it's just a simple quicktime event. Not very innovative, but much better than the annoying aiming at quickly moving targets with an analog stick from im@s 2.

HD screenshots. Looks like Ranko comes with her song (that I can never remember the name of) and Serika comes with Tokimeki no Onpu ni Natte, but I bet they'll also come with a second song?

Ranko's inclusion doesn't surprise me, but what does surprise me is her being announced this early as is. She's one of the more vibrant designs.

And now you know why I'm sort of dreading this.

New video from Famitsu

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsc29zGT6z8&feature=youtu.be

Canèt go into detail about it right now but i can give minor brief.

Things on skills and how important they are.
Changes to auditions such as multipliers on certain stats (pretty much means we can't stack 2 stats and expect to pass)

Although it obvious, Only My Note confirmed to have an All Star version ingame.

More in vid but that what came out the most to me.

Looking at this new video, I'm even more hyped now than I was before, as lives/auditions/etc. were my favorite part of the game, and some of these changes help add some more strategy past "be sure to get full combo".

I do notice there's an end counter for appealing, though I'm unsure if it only applies to burst appeals or regular appeals too, having noticed it on only one song and said song had a full voltage gauge (I'm guessing it's so that they won't initially reveal the end burst times for newly-added songs, since said one song was "The World is all One"). This, and the way the burst appeal gradually depletes voltage gauge on hit rather than taking it all outright, seems like it's trying to make itself more beginner-friendly in a way.

i don't think the stats bonus means we can't only stack 2 stats, since the bonus only seems to apply for a short amount of time.
Even so, you could make 3 units, each of them concentrating on different stats and just bring the corresponding unit to the audition. I think what determines whether we can use the same strategy is if the corresponding charms (or some replacement) still exist or not, the haven't been mentioned in any of the videos yet.

The burst skill they introduced makes some idols better for certain stats, for example Yukiho focusing on visuals since the visual multiplier will be higher after a burst if she uses the corresponding skill.

The way the All Star Live is made means you'll have to train all the idols at least to some degree since you have to win 3 stage performances and you must use all idols for them. And the stage performance with all 13 girls seems to be only an encore if you win the All Star Live.

The next video will be the last one and contain some surprises.

I have a thing for honeycomb patterns and the fact that the skills screen is a giant honeycomb is pleasing to the eyes.

Preview of the guest DLC. Serika will be released in June, while Ranko is first day DLC.

The loading screen is super cute too.

The lighting during Ranko's performance was just cake.

I do like those new loading screens with the 8-bit idols. Kinda reminds me of the Special Stage loading screens from Sonic 4 with the little 16-bit Sonic.

Wait, Day 1 DLC? Oh boy, now we're gonna hear the "Why make it DLC!? It should've been part of the game!" argument again.
