Strangely, the idols that beat Leon with 4 memory appeals got more exp from the event.

The difficult thing about the S1 rank up festival is that you don't have enough time to counter MAI with normal appeals, you have to use a memory appeal. It can get very tough, but tonari ni always win it for me for some reason.

My method to beat the S1 rank up is to counter with Yukiho, Makoto or Haruka. I use a memory appeal, 1 or 2 normal appeals, then i wait a bit before bursting. If i get the chance and i don't have to counter, i also burst with Miki, Hibiki or Chihaya, or with just them when it's at the end of the song. Depending on how the first song went and how much voltage the opponent and i have at the start of the second song i just use the second song to make the opponent waste some memory appeals, and i try to finish the second song with a full voltage gauge, so i can burst immediately at the beginning of the thrid.

Beating Leon with 4 memory appeals is kinda strange. Usually i wait before using memory appeals until the opponent has some voltage, so i can destroy theirs. But if you do that with Leon and 4 memory appeals she will use hers to make sure she can burst first. If you use 3 memory appeals right from the start, she won't use any memory appeals until your voltage is full. Then you can make an ultimate burst. After that i just do my appeals, she will burst. Usually it then ends up in a way that you can counter her second burst and then you have basically won, especially if you can make another burst at the end of the song.

I have played through about half the routes now, and once i figured these methods out i never had much trouble beating those 2 events.

Interesting, sacrificing the second song. But real men win rank up festivals straight up.
I find that it's a sure fire way to win if you start by bursting with Haruka,Makoto, or Yukiho and then just counter MAI every time with Chihaya, Miki or Hibiki. This more or less makes MAI end the song with a burst and therefore preventing her from bursting at the beginning of the next song.

Regarding beating Leon with 4 memory appeals. It really depends on the song, some characters just can't do it.

The song isn't Eden. Harumph, someday~. :c

Uzuki comes at no surprise, though, and I must say the new extend looks lovely.
Suddenly, bow-wow-wow~. :3

They're probably not going to do it right after Visionary. Visionary was a few catalogs after Vault.

That Uzuki is so cute!

CG always blend in with the game's style more than ML (I assume it's because of the artist)

Idk, Ranko and Uzuki look awesome but I have mixed feelings on Anzu's transition to 3D.

I have mixed feelings on her clothes... :-\  Anzu is a Cute-type idol, but her outfit isn't cute, unlike Uzuki's. :(

I wonder what they are going to do now, that there's no more EX episodes and level cap raising.

The new catalog image is really cute. Yayoi's hair buns and Ritsuko's hair down are back too.
