Rendering engine is different - my memory might be a little fuzzy, but I remember a more pastel look. I remember thinking it looks slightly hand-drawn - edges were softer, but had some texture to them and I thought I saw a paper-like texture being (very faintly) blended on to the scene. Think Valkyria Chronicles, but not as dramatic.

Imagining it right now and if it looks like what I just pictured in my head, then wow this game is gonna look good. I give this generation credit, graphics in so many returning franchises have never looked so good!

--- Quote from: Okayu on July 19, 2015, 02:29:25 am ---I just wish they'd give us people not at the live some sort of teaser. Even in Japan not all of the fans could go to the live.

--- End quote ---

Although the Gematsu article said there are no plans, I doubt that'll be the case. You can't just tease the next big title and only show it behind closed doors. Gives a slight sense of false hype for those that haven't seen it.

--- Quote from: Chihayaa on July 19, 2015, 02:32:03 am ---I would rather want to produce those three as one unit (like iM@S 2's RK chapter) than have Namco pull a RK and not have them produce-able at all. I would actually be legitimately upset if I can't produce Hibiki :(

--- End quote ---

Namco isn't gonna split up characters from the main cast and make them unproducable again. After 9/18, they would be flat-out idiotic to try something like that again.

--- Quote from: Maka on July 19, 2015, 12:41:45 am ---You'd really rather write a character out of the game than have them change their seiyuu? Really? I thought the Azumin thing was hilariously overblown so if Ritsuko or someone else gets a new seiyuu I'll be like... "Oh, what a shame", and move on.

--- End quote ---

Ah...I just realized I may I have gone a bit far with that remark.(I said it without really thinking)  But yeah, even though I care for the seiyuus as much as our idols I don't wish that for any of the girls.  But like their seiyuus who may inevitably want to retire someday, I'd want to see them being
able to move on at some point.(passing the torch thing)  They really deserve it after all, instead of repeatedly given new VAs whenever the old one retires being stuck in some neverending cycle.(poor Ash Ketchum)

I'm having a hard time imagining what this "pastel" texture is like, can you give examples of other games I can look up?

Cael said that the look is reminiscent of Valkyria Chronicles. I took that, applied that visual style to iM@S and there ya go.

The models didn't look reused, even if they look kinda the same. Heck, they could have altered the ones from OFA for all I know, but they seem fresh.

Would you say the visuals look similar to that terrible CG mobile game?

Logan:
I hope it has a big cast if only because I really like playing with how certain groupings sound together and having ML or CG girls thrown in would make that a lot more fun :x
