Character development is often about seeing a character go from one state to another, even if it's not as extreme as say Awakened Miki was. Even something as simple as moving them to another country could add a whole lot of new situations and problems.

Well technically true, but the story lately has not really been much of one at all. The cast has not really had any character development since the anime. OFA was basically just new interactions, same exact idols just reacting to slightly different situations. Which is what Platinum Stars is looking to be too, same cast, same exact personality's with no development from the previous installments having an effect, reacting to slightly new iterations of the same story. Personally I very much like this formula.

The cast hasn't had any character development since the anime? Are you sure we've been playing the same games here?

The anime was largely inspired by idolmaster 2 to begin with, so if you mean that kind of vision change with the new haircuts and what not, then yes there hasn't been a vision change since 2010.

Otherwise we might just have to agree to disagree here.

Well, that sounds a little extreme.  Every game (including OFA) has character development each told with a different perspective while keeping some of the general characteristics intact.  Of course, you have to pay attention to the dialogue/story to see some of the differences in each perspective.   You can’t just look at the big picture.  Like what was said before, the anime was roughly based on im@s 2 (I maybe bias, but I wouldn’t give the anime too much credit since personally I don’t think it was a great adaptation)

So with this it's pretty much confirmed it'll be going in birthday order. At least now that they've done the two new songs the rest will have to be songs we don't know about in the set list now.

Yayoi is cute as always. I kind of would like those ending chibi to be on the loading screens like the sprites in OFA.

Also since I don't see a link to it already there's going to be another live stream on the 30th.
