I'm guessing (and hoping) the dice minigame is a way to enhance work communications. OFA had those too, but they were automatically cleared and gave you accessories from what I remember.
I really can't see them doing away with regular commus, though.

OFA had minigames? Are you talking about the vending machine communications (picking the right drink)? Or are you referring to promotions? (I don't recall there being a minigame, but you do get accessories from certain promotions). Sorry, if I sound confused.
