TBH, I'm surprised Ritsuko is in the visual tab, normally she's paired up with the vocal heavy characters like chihaya and asuza.
Also that one idol with the bump-it hair looks just like mizuki from Aikatsu.

I thought the exact same thing. Out of the idols we've seen so far, I only like is Shizuka the Chihaya clone, Megumi, Nao and Fuuka, Azusa's long-lost twin. Although these idols do look like they belong in the iM@S world more than the CGs, some of their designs could've been better.

I'll agree that some of the designs are unintuitive or bland, but I like others. Though some confuse me, like the new girl whose concept art shows glasses YET SHE WEARS NONE IN HER STAGE OUTFIT. I mean, Idolmaster has a long, accepting history of Meganekkos; why REMOVE a meganekko's glasses in this game? I sorta-not-really got it in CG, since there was a myriad of idols and some may have preferred them without glasses. (Like with the "awakened Ritsuko" videos I've seen on youtube...) But she's so CUTE, and she even had PIGTAILS in the concept art. She looked so much less generic, and then...! She's still SO CUTE though, and she sounds amazing! Also, she's my age.
I like ponytail girl, though. And the gaijin. (That's the blond with pigtails, Emily, did any of you not catch her.) For some reason, gaijin characters don't seem too popular in the imas fandom, Miki's psuedo-gaijin-ness notwithstanding. She also has a somewhat more accurate bust than some other gaijin girls I've seen in anime. The blond new girl from Visual is also kinda cute-looking; she seems really calm, but I can't think of anything that sets her apart... Also, the new Ojou girl is kinda funny, since she goes from trying the "OH HO HO!" laugh to coughing. I REALLY like the dance girl with the headband, Elena. She's cute, good at dancing in a way none of the other girls can claim (at the very least, she's trained in Samba or something, and my age has a unique hair color. I also like the Kyoko-expy, but she is rather generic...
Tentative favs are: Elena, Sayoko(?), Miya(?), and Nao. (Four 'cause I'm kinda obsessed with the idea of a four-idol unit, with a specialist for Dance, Vocal, Visual, and then a more well-rounded or personality focused person for the "leader." )

I know how you feel... I'm a glasses wearer... She looks really good with them... Maybe it's character development, like she feels the need to shed her glasses to feel stronger? Or maybe they just wanted to keep Ricchan unique? I prefer the second...
