Expect Makoto to be revealed as a boy in future titles if Ryo’s popularity continues to wax.
Which was just a joke about how popular Ryo is. Since Makoto is the most boyish of the idol's, she's obviously going to be the target for those types of jokes. "Since the first trap was so popular, they'll probably make more... now who can we think of that might be a boy?"
If you'll notice, they also had a video containing Dearly Stars gameplay on that page, showing Makoto as the victim of a Pai-touch. That was a pretty good indication of her female anatomy to me, anyway... And I doubt they'd change that halfway through a series.
As much as I like Makoto's boyish nature, it just wouldn't be the same if she was actually a trap... A Reverse Trap is fine too.
