THE iDOLM@STER > THE iDOLM@STER SP (PSP) series
Idolmaster Shiny Festa
Scotty:
I'd rather have pre-rendered videos than what PD had on PSP.
Also, PD has read issues as well, but you know what makes this game better? You can change the speed to help you read better. Automatically better.
TheTanStar:
Except the reading problems were almost no issue for anyone that could focus properly. When you need to change the speed, then there's a real problem.
Also, I'd rather take slightly pixelated graphics that allow for customization over blurry, blocky videos that scream cash crab; If you really had a problem with it, you could play the PS3 version. It reminds me of the Sega CD FMV game era, which was more of a dark age than anything.
Scotty:
That's a huge exaggeration.
It's also humorous how you call this a quick cash grab, and then point me to the PS3 version of PD, which was also a cash grab. I'm not arguing that this was a lazy thing to do, I'm only saying that if you tout your game as a rhythm game, you make the mechanic a priority over everything else. When a rhythm game offers you custom speed, that's a good thing, and not a reason for you to think it has a problem with reading. There is no one size fits all when it comes to speed in rhythm games, and for SEGA to not recognize this, shows how little experience they have with rhythm games. You can argue that SEGA has had a long line of rhythm games, but really, the only good one to ever come out of that company was Space Channel.
Anyways.
Worked my way to Groovy Tune, and just from the OVA, I need not see any more. This is the best version. All Miki, all the time. Wonderful. 10/10.

It's adorable!
Thank you very much!
SakuraMaxX:
I'd rather go with the prerendered video with no customization than the realtime rendered garbage in Project Diva. You know there's a problem when your rhythm game drops frames. I'm running Shiny Festa on my PSP-1000 and it runs fine even on factory clock settings. Runs even nicer when overclocked.
