What are burst appeals? You mean the appeals from auditions/shows in original iM@S? If so, who says they are going to be ingame? Most likely if the meter is low, they'll add a subtle red overlay and that's all...
Don't think so, when you start a performance the voltage meter is always empty and it can only increase, not decrease.
Burst appeals are special appeals you can use when the voltage meter is full in "traditional" iM@S games.

:) Yes, I figured this would be the perfect game for me to introduce myself too, and although I heard that SP is perfectly enjoyable without Japanese, I don't think I could stand failing the idols in communications. Guessing just doesn't sit well with me. Hopefully, this game will be more to my speed.

Sorry, I don't know nearly enough about the iDOLM@STER games.
What does a "Best" version include? What's a good estimate until they're released?
How much do you think Shiny Festa would cost just as it comes out, or pre-ordered?

Er, I suppose I should head over to that thread we have about shipping from Japan for most of these questions but I suppose they are related to Shiny Festa.

Though, on a more objective topic:
There seems to be an awful lot of gripes about Shiny Festa, namely DLC. Is it at all possible for a foreign PSP to download Japanese, iM@S DLC?
And just to double-check: PSP doesn't have a region-lock, does it?
Totally region-free. ;) And yes, you can download japanese DLCs, just need a japanese PSN account and a japanese PSN Card (or a japanese credit card :p)

Best versions include the base game. In other words, no pre-order bonus content (like DLC or posters) or anything like that. Just the vanilla content that you would get if you bought it used or something.

As far as an estimate, probably less than a year from the original release. iM@S2 PS3 is getting a Best version in August and the game originally came out in October, so it was only 10 months.

The PSP and PS Vita are region free... but the PSN accounts are locked to the country you create it in.

Is PSP DLC locked to the account you bought it on, or is it like PS3 where any account can use it after it's been downloaded?

A PSP/Vita can only be linked to one PSN/SEN account at a time, so that can't happen at all.

I log in and out of accounts all the time on my PSP, I even have a japanese one that works fine. I don't use it too often, but still.

I've only ever encountered one demo that wouldn't run unless the PSP was synced to the right account (Higurashi Daybreak Portable), but I haven't tried DLC yet.

I have a love/hate thing for this title.

I hate this is for PSP. As such, I will not be ordering these. I will be playing them of course, but I can't support such a lazy idea from NBGI. Not this time.

I do love how it's purely a rhythm game. It's a great way to get some more use of the iM@S library of songs we normally wouldn't be able to see in the main games. This isn't a mothership iM@S game, so there's no reason to act sour over the fact that you can't customize. I would take pre-rendered videos over terrible 3D models with un-synced lips any day.

Completely agree.
Sides. The prerendered videos look darn good.

yeah that's true.
I always liked the customization but if all the videos are as good as what we've seen it could be worth it.

So wait, were you saying being on PSP was the lazy idea? And why is it a problem if it's on PSP? It's still a very popular and successful system in Japan, and it would be here if developers and publishers didn't bail on it so early.

The vita is alive and thrists for more titles.

Basically this. I won't believe anything unless I see it on the PSP screen...
Until that, I remain skeptical...

I'd expect a playable demo on PSN after TGS. We'll see then.
