Help from the iM@S Community with an English Fandub
« on: June 10, 2012, 05:28:49 am »
My next English fandub is Koi Kaze, and I’m gonna need help with it. Long story short, the karaoke for the song doesn’t have the choir singing at the end, and I don’t want to go without it. That’s why I’m requesting Idolm@ster fans, anyone really, to sing the choir part of my English fandub lyrics for Koi Kaze. Here are three conditions if you would like to participate:

1) Your recording should just be your voice. No music and as little to no sound as possible in the background.

2) Just sing it as best as you can. Make sure your recording (the rhythm of the words and stuff) is in sync with the original.

3) Sing in either the range sung in the song or a low range, whatever range is comfortable for you. Just make sure the range you end up singing sounds okay with the original recording (the wrong range can throw off the unison of the voices). On that note, guys can participate too as long as this condition is still filled.

Here are the lyrics that you need to sing:

As my heart melts warmly within the playful breeze
It makes a connection to the future that I put all my faith in
My feelings wax and wane like the moon shines again
They want to erase all of the sadness and fill in the space with happiness
As a gentle wind blows I’m embraced by its flow
I am lifted to the clouds in the sky. And just like a bird, I can fly

(To hear how my lyrics are sung, listen to this.)

Anybody can enter and there’s no limit to how many people can enter. I’ll make the tentative deadline June 16th, next Saturday. Sound good?

Annnd that’s it. You can send your recordings to me anyway you want. You can message me on YouTube, message me on the forums, or you can e-mail me (my silly e-mail lol): rising_down_falling_up@hotmail.com

Feel free to ask or tell me any questions or concerns you may have, I’ll be happy to answer. And please please please participate even if you think you don’t sing well! Heck, get your friends to sing with you if you can.

On that note, everyone who enters will be credited with the name they choose to go by. Thanks in advance to those who are willing to help me out!

I've got one person that already sent in a recording and I think I'm waiting on a few other people who want to join in. There has to be some people who like to secretly sing on this forum or something. o:

Today, like I said, was the tentative deadline, but I only got four recordings so far. Sooo come on guys, send a recording in. The choir I have now isn't big enough.

A clip of all the recordings I have so far: http://palepapaya.tumblr.com/post/25273351288/i-didnt-really-edit-fix-up-this-clip-at-all-so

You can still send in a recording since I don't really have a lot of people still, although I am happy about the recordings I did get! I didn't know what to expect, but I was happy people sent in recordings at all.

Hey Rihsa! I'm sorry it's going to be a little late. . . but may I send it in withing the next few hours? I already have it recorded (even though it's not the best)
and I'm going to email/ pm it to you on youtube.

Besides you said that the deadline wasn't set in stone right?

Yeah that's fine, don't sweat the deadline. As long as I know you plan to send in a recording, it doesn't matter too much when you do it. Thanks in advance!

Hey.

I'm not sure if I'll actually record myself yet... sort of shy about singing, despite being in a choir once.

At the end of Koi Kaze (for you it would be at I can fly), the children's choir actually breaks off from the main melody and sings harmony.

Would you want me to sing that or the melody? Well, if I actually go through with it. I'll be going off my laptop mic, so the quality will probably be bad.

Sing the melody. And I actually realized too late that the children's choir sang the harmony ha ha. If I had it my way, I'd go back and tell everyone to sing the harmony at the last part. But I think some (literally, only some) people have a hard enough time singing just the melody correctly, so something tells me I would have gotten submissions where they sang the harmony part wrong anyway.

Wow, I normally don't like fan dubs(quite the opposite I hate them) but that may be the one exception. I'll have to watch out for your other fan dabs and catch up on the ones I've missed until now.
Keep up the good work!
