So why are there 2 concerts is Week 3?

Anyways, Thar concert in Week 3 where you have to make it to the top 3.  What happens if your rank is 1/30?  Do you get any special dialogue?  The best I can get is 2/30.

No special dialogue, but be advised that there are auditions in that you have to get 1st out of however much people there are.

I am on Week 4, and for some reason there is a decision to make when you are talking to Iori.  What is that decision all about?   I can't find it in the guide.
