I love Miki. So I second this question.

She doesn't show up to take a lot of the screen time. The way Miki is injected into the anime resulted in her getting disliked. Not to mention many things like Haruka being the actual main protagonist, etc. Rihsa already hit the nail on the head, but add to that heavy fan expectation and desire for equality.
Compassionate Sadist:
Marx said it better than I could. My choice of wording was very poor -- what I meant to say was the way they made it seem like she constantly hogged the spotlight and drew attention to herself annoyed me. Like nublet said, it would've been nice if she had been more passive in the anime. It was wrong to call her a "bitchy attention whore", since she is actually a very sweet girl, but anime!Miki seemed...I dunno...hypocritical? (I'm referring to her "Stop being selfish, Haruka" line. It kind of rubbed me the wrong way, especially after the way she acted in her own episode.)
I also should've said that the fact the anime made some people dislike her didn't sit well with me. I didn't mean anything bad against Miki, I love her to death. But it sometimes felt like I was having Miki shoved in my face. Again, I probably should've thought before I chose my words. >////<

Bit I hated about that part in particular? The episode before (Ep 23), when Haruka's like, "let's work together Miki!", Miki's all like, "No, I will win the role for myself so Honey will notice me!"
Who's selfish? Ain't that rich what Miki says in Ep 24? "Stop being selfish, Haruka"? Pot calling the Kettle black?
I swear, and did anyone else have the same feeling, that in Ep 25, when Haruka goes for water, and Miki follows, did anyone think there was going to be a catfight? I swear I thought they would, but the animators realized - it's the end of the anime, no need for extra conflict.
But anyways - I liked Miki in Ep 8 and 13, when she's serious. I don't mind her stealing the spotlight when she does it professionally. "I need to get you time? Alright." "I've got two dance songs to do? Alright, let me try."
NOT when she does things in like Ep 24 "Hey Haruka, it's your episode, and I'm really happy for you and Imma let you finish, but I'm just going to pop in right here, hijack your moment for a bit and call you selfish." *Not Miki's actual words :P
zeda12123:
I never really liked Miki much in the first place and after seeing her in the anime I just don't like her at all 8I
But, i already complained about Character focus in an episode thread.
