Evaluation
Ranko is what the Japanese call “Chuunibyou”. It’s a term to describe 14-year-olds who acts maturely BUT looks down on adults. Some goes as far as faking to have powers from beyond. Ranko is that type of Chuunibyou. In basic sense, she’s just a shy girl who can’t be honest with herself. Her cards, as it stands, is written that it says one thing, but you’ll read that it has a hidden, non-chuunibyou meaning.
Perhaps she experienced some oppression in her young life. And hey, if you got strict parents and an unopen peer group, drawing’s one of the last thing you do to get approval. It’s also because of this that she grows distrustful of people. Staying long enough in her imagination, she is one to easily convince people in her acting (or in her deep choice of words). Her chuunibyou attitude is a proud, confident character, not afraid to flaunt about her ‘power’. Her true self is just a shy girl who’s happy to be with the Producer. As for her reasoning to be an idol, I guess she just wants to be recognized.
Of course, her upgraded forms do not drop her chuunibyou attitude, but even becomes a bit more confident, which is just her way of letting you know that she appreciates what you’ve done for her. But when the producer has gotten to her, aka her MAX comments, she’d show you her true self. Some of her MAX greetings and MAX end-of-work comments would even play around with this, mixing both styles of speech to show a bit of affection to the Producer.

Evaluation
The genkiest Cinderella Girl I’ve known to date, Kirari also stands out among the cast for being the tallest idol overall! (Beating Takane’s 169cm and Hokuto’s 180cm). Not to mention that for every new card she gets, she grows taller, even after upgrading. Upbeat and somewhat childish for a girl her age (and height!), She has the habit of referring herself as “Kirarin”, specially on her self-named terms like “Kirarin Power” and “Kirarin’s Happy Happy Room”. Her cat-like expression in her face is perhaps the cause (or effect) of her tendencies to say Ny- type words (“Nyahoi!”, “Nyowa!”, “Nyaha!”).
As a polar opposite to Anzu in many ways, Kirari is pretty much describeable as positivism in human form. I don’t think there’s anything that’s not grimdark that could put Kirari down. She’s so enthusiastic of idol work, it can be pretty vague as to why she became an idol. Of course, what I could say is that she may have done it just for the cute clothing. Speaking of cute things, she collects them. We could her her room filled with many things cute, and wearing cute clothing herself outside of the upgraded forms. Though she is childish and may behave like one, she still thinks as her age (perhaps) and has the judgment you’d expect from someone her age. She could come of as reckless and cocky with this, but it’s all completely innocent.
Her upgraded forms show her having a stronger bond with Producer. Her Heart Up comments do not exactly show a romantic attraction, but more of the bond strengthening I mentioned. Unlike many childish characters, Kirarin knows love, and would reveal it in many notable times. If she’s about to confess it, she’ll stop herself. if she spilled it, she’ll retract it. And she does all that without being so shy. =w=
