Flipped through 1776 by David McCullough.  I've already read it, but it's nice to go back to when I need a morale boost.

Been rereading Kenji over and over and over again. The philosophy is quite a good one, and makes me think about just how much i have been set back by my own foolishness...

Just finished reading Iris On Rainy Days.  I enjoyed it.  I'm gonna look for a decent digital copy of I, Robot though.  I'm starting to enjoy books revolving around robots and base themselves off the Three Laws of Robotics.

But of course if you started reading it, DO IT. And I'm also saving money on my movie birthday night.

On Topic: Currently reading chapters five to eight of 'The Hunger Games'.

Just finished reading "Remembrances for a Certain Pilot" (or The Princess and the Pilot if you prefer), and I loved it.  Anyone else know of any novels that have World War 2 era aviation as their main focus?  There isn't an English translation of The Sky Crawlers and its books, so I unfortunately can't read  those.

If the movie is any better than the book, please let me know. I like the concept of it, so I'd enjoy something that portrays it well, aside from 「Battle Royale」.

Afraid not. The only WW2-focused fiction I know of is 「Strike Witches」.

Moved on to King of Kings (Harry Sidebottom). I'm enjoying this a lot more than the unfortunately popular trainwreck that was the last series I read, even if the writing style of Warrior of Rome is equally as... uninspired.

I just tore through volumes 2-4 of the Phoenix Wright manga- the ones with actual cases, not the side-stories.  It's quite good.

I'm trying to start reading Hannibal by Thomas Harris. Since I love Silence of the Lambs, I thought I would enjoy it. Only on the first chapter so I can't say anything about it.

Aside from that, I let my nerdy side take hold of me for a bit and read Hunt for Voldorius in one sitting. Warhammer 40,00 was always a hobby I loved, only natural I'd love the novels.

Not a book, but I've been reading something on 4chan's traditional games (/tg/) board, Strike Witches Quest.

Short: Strike witches - Neuroi + Martians (H.G. Wells, War of the Worlds ones) + Dudes that actually do something + crazy hijinks.

Long: You are a P-61 Black Widow pilot in the USAAF 442nd Night Fighter Squadron, aided by indifference, uncanny luck, and your turret gunner Ian and your radio operator Sean, in an alternate Strike Witches universe where Martians are waging war instead of the Neuroi. After a brief encounter with the 501st Joint Fighter Wing at night, your commanding officer sticks you to day duty, where you shoot down 6 Martian craft before having to emergency land on the 501st's base. Suddenly, command decides to stick you there as a liaison. How will you deal being stuck on a island with a whole bunch of women while trying to teach them the ways of becoming a PILOT, not giving a damn and BOUNCING on others? How will life change on that base? How will the war go? And is your luck just luck, or something else?

From what I've read so far, it's both silly and serious. You should give it a try at least.
