iDOLM@STER Musical Notations

animagic4u:
Oh I always write piano sheet music in lead sheet form. (Just chords and the melody line).
That way you can pretty much use it for any instrument you want. :)

Naryoril:
I tried to translate the Go My Way sheet yesterday, but the note where the right two holes are covered isn't listed in any 4 hole ocarina chart i found. Trying around didn't give anything that sounded right either (not just the note, but the whole melody).

I ended up searching for idolm@ster midis, because i have a midi editor that shows a midi in a musical notation (i learned a bunch of non-imas-songs like this), but unfortunately i couldn't find any at all.

So i started searching for sheet music. And with this i found the "Idolm@ster Master Book", which apparentely also contains the sheet music for 16 songs (as it's from 2008 READY will be missing unfortunately)

I orderd it from CD Japan now, i guess i'll get it in 2 to 3 weeks. As the singing is prominent in imas i'm sure they'll contain the notes for the vocal voice (which is sometimes not the case in midis, you have to extract the melody there) which is perfect for the ocarina. It has a similar range than the human voice and both can't do chords ;)

animagic4u:
Oh I was gonna order that a long time ago...but I prefer to do stuff in whatever key suits me best. :D
Especially since a pendant is only working with one octave. ;D

Naryoril:
often enough i'v trouble fitting (instrumental) songs into the range of a 12 hole ocarina (almost 2 octaves), isn't one octave very restricting? And yes, i also tend to transpose the songs to fit them into the range or to have easier keys. Starting from a MIDI that's easy (the program can do it) but starting from sheet music it's a bit of trouble. And i'm not nearly good enough to learn a song just by ear.

animagic4u:
I've been playing piano for 10 years so learning a song by ear is pretty easy, but I'm still shaky on chords.
I usually try to sing it out with my guitar but I have a really low vocal range.
