I have the XBOX version, since my plans for PS3 acquisition haven't happened yet. Oh, and I also have Warriors Orochi for the XBOX, but I think the infamous lag for that makes it unplayable until I get Live and can download the patch.

I've always been big on plot/story, since I play RPGs and read books a lot, but I couldn't understand it as well when I was younger. Now, though, I'm pretty happy with my semi-historical Samurai Warriors/Dynasty Warriors and can delude myself into thinking it aided my studying of those periods.

My personal favorite Dynasty Warriors games were 5 and 7. I also like Musou Orochi and Samurai Warriors 1 and 2 as well. At first I didn't think much about the story myself but later on I started to become really interested in the Three Kingdoms history and the characters in the games so I pretty much looked at the encyclopedia put into the games to learn more about it and the battles and officers that played apart of the Three kingdoms era and the age of war and chaos.

I hope that love of the Three Kingdoms's history eventually extends to history in general. I'm always glad to have converts to the History Fans™ club, since not many people tend to think history is worthwhile as a subject of study.

So, a fan of history, huh? I know that feeling that people have about history, that it isn't worthwhile.

As for Dynasty/Samurai Warriors: I've played only DW3 and Samurai Warriors, and I think that they're fun games to play with. I was more interested in Samurai Warriors, though. I got interested in the Sengoku Era because of it.

I'm interested in learning about new things in general - even though there's a lot I'll never know or understand, I'd like to know as much about how things work/have worked in the past - but history is a major one.

I think it's very interesting to see how the past has affected the present, and I also think how people in Ancient Civilizations lived, because it's so different from how we live now, like an entirely different world. And yet, there still are great similarities that have persevered through the ages, in practically all areas from architecture to ways of speaking.

I don't know what it is about Hack/Slash games, but I've always been addicted to the gameplay of them. I was sold even before they happened to mix it with history.
