WWE TLC 2011
« on: December 19, 2011, 04:57:01 pm »
As the last WWE PPV of the year, I think we should do this one, also compensating for the last PPVs we didn't talk about. I only missed the Orton vs Barrette (yes, I intentionally misspelled that), so I'll skip that here. All in all, I guess it's a good way to end the PPVs of the year. For all ya Cena haters, he's not even here, so yeah.

  • After two failed attempts, Twitter finally exploded in what was the first televised match of the night. Enforcing the idea that Dolph's successes rely heavily on Vickie Guerrero, a finishing Rough Ryder allowed the Internet Champion to pin Ziggler to become the new US Championship. Woo woo woo! You know it!
  • They got pinned twice by the upcoming tag team of Epico and Primo, but Air Boom showed that that was nothing but a rocky start. Exhibiting the same amount of exciting moves they always have, Air boom took the victory by Kofi giving a Trouble in Paradise to Primo.
  • Kelly Kelly shows more game here as she proves that she plays tougher and better tonight. Regardless, Beth proved she's a tough cookie to beat and she retains the title in the end.
  • One of the most intense matches of the night. With Nash and HHH on equal footing, this match is as unpredictable as it comes. We also got to see the Cerebral Assassin in action. With ladders! But in the end, a battle on the top of a ladder, a sledgehammer, even if not fully on his hands, proved to be the Game's friend. After having it, it was all downhill. Two failed pedigrees prompted the Game to end it with a sledgehammer, but Nash tried to appeal with the Kliq sign. HHH, having none of that, told Nash to suck it and then gave it to him.
  • Swagger was asking for it, so he got it, but not what he wanted. Locked on with a battle against the Great White, his first mistake was making Sheamus angry. In the end, the ankle lock failed, and a surprising Brogue Kick to a recovering-from-missed-tackle Swagger sealed the Irish wrestler's victory.
  • Big Show starts of their match with Mark Henry for the WHC by leaving the ring and flooding the ring with tables (well, it's legal, right?). Chairs were everywhere. The turning point would be Big Show's right hand in pain after an assault to it. He even failed to Chokeslam Henry when he tried. but somehow he managed to suck up all the pain and gave a finishing WMD to pin Henry out. Infuriated, the former Champ then hammered Show's leg so he can DDT him skull-first to a lying down chair.
  • Unconscious, Daniel Bryan took this opportunity to cash in the briefcase again. Fortunately for him, this time counted and now he starts his first reign as WHC. Some may not get it, but he's smart to cash it in now, as if he plays it right, he will go main eventing Wrestlemania (Two birds, one stone).
  • Getting up after two assault by Cody Rhodes, Booker T fights him for the ICC. But the damage has been done as Rhodes made attempts to pin Booker for the win.
  • Best in the World is correct! Despite a previous failure at the title under Triple threat rules, CM Punk comes out of this one victorious. Amazingly, too. He's been put through a table, attacked by a ladder, hammered by a chair and got handcuffed twice in different locations, but when it mattered the most, he got back up on his feet and went on to fight. I feel sorry for Ricardo, though. Earlier, he got food pushed on him by the Miz, followed by being pushed by his 'friend' Del Rio (earlier, Del Rio's car was missing), and during the match, while on the top of a ladder trying to secure the title for Del Rio, he got thrown over to a table outside the ring. If I was Ricardo (which I won't let myself get to this point) the moment I get up, I'm searching for a new employer.

All in all, it was a great PPV. there were some not-so-exciting times but nonetheless I was cheering heavily and being ticked so hard. But the question is this: Who has Del Rio's car? If it's a Mustang, I bet Cena will have it by tomorrow, unless he returned it to the rental from which it came.

I don't dislike John Cena as much as some of the other Cena haters do. I just think that his gimmick is kind of stale and that he needs a change of gimmick and entrance music.

Anyway, I thought it was a pretty good PPV but nothing special in my opinion.

I was pretty happy to see Zach Ryder win the U.S title finally after winning over the crowd in terms of popularity.

I thought the Triple H vs Kevin Nash match was pretty good up until the end. I guess that is why the call him the Cerebral assassin.

I wasn't too happy with Randy Boreton beating Wade Barrett in the tables match though. But that just goes to show you that whenever the he gets a chance he always likes to bury everyone. I really wish he would give way to other superstars for once instead of burying everyone like that.

The Big Show vs Mark Henry match wasn't that great and it was really short as well. But when Daniel Bryan chased it in and won the world heavyweight title the crowd just came to life again. I kind of felt sorry for the Big Show though.

But I think the best match of the night was the Triple Threat ladder match between the Miz, CM Punk, and Alberto del rio. CM Punk showed again why he is indeed the best in the world and superstar of the year when he went through a table, got beat up by chairs, and even handcuffed a couple of times and still won.

So overall I give this PPV a 7.5/10

Even though I watched the whole PPV on TV in the morning in Manila yesterday, I was nearly got a heart attack.

First of all, Long Island Iced-Z finally got what he deserve on his last chance for the title crown, and of course, Ryder's dad's in attendance. My most favorite of all is Vickie's ejection after the referee sees it. Looks like Christmas is come so early for Ryder. Good for him!

Air Boom is amazing, and their skills are incredible during their title bout against Primo and Epico (with Rosa Mendes on their side).

One of my favorite matches in this PPV is the epic tables match between Randy Orton and Wade Barrett. I like Barrett's new ink on his arm and in the end, his so-called 'Barrett Barrage' is now covered in splinters thanks to Orton's devastating RKO for the win. Orton's win is like a viper waiting its prey.

Although Kelly Kelly is the Slammy's 'Divalicious Moment of the Year'*, but in the end the Glamazon wins it.

The epic sledgehammer ladder match between Triple H and his former friend/Kliq cohort Kevin Nash is amazing, but The King of Kings end it. It was also my second favorite match.

Looks like Vickie's Christmas wish didn't come true as she was disappointed after Jack Swagger is defeated by 'The Great White' Sheamus. Before the match, Smackdown GM Teddy Long (or I called him 'Santa Teddy') arrange a match for them.

Big Show ended up with a broken hand but Daniel Bryan cashes in and win the title. You know what Marx, you are right for your opinion of the WHC match-up.

The main event's amazing as CM Punk is STILL 'The Best in the World'. The best moment in the main event is Punk's free from the handcuffs in the turnbuckle. This is great.

In conclusion, I watched the WWE.com exclusive on Rey Mysterio's injury update, and said that he wants to get his hands on the man who put him out of action when he returns as he is aiming for his WrestleMania return.

* - She beats Brie Bella at Raw's "Power to the People" to win the Divas Championship.

Overall: 8.5/10
